First Spyder to get in the new year?

#1

Post by Spyderknife »

Hey guys, 2 hours to the new year in Cape Town. Already planning for 2009. My first :spyder: I'm planning for is the Kris. What's yours? Don't know if there is already such a post, if so my apologies.

Great knife ClockWork. Solid as a rock. Similar feel to the Chinook. I have the mini-manix CE and love it. Sure you will too. That's a great New Years resolution you got there! :D

Happy New Year!

I'm still enjoying my new Lava and the fact that I can EDC it in knife-unfriendly Chicago, so the next :spyder: will probably be awhile off.

The next in queue for me is probably the Street Beat, though it will probably be off in late 2009 when I get it. Though I might be tempted to get another, lighter, folder with a blade length under 2.5 inches (the limit here) just to mix things up.

My little sister really liked my Lava, though, so there's some gift potential for 2009 as well.

I can see my next purchase as being a black, digi-camo Military. OK...and the Para-Military version as well. ;)

Hey FLYcrash, one of the advantages of being here in South Africa is that this is KNIFE COUNTRY. There are bigger problems here for the police to be concerned about than my knives. I can even EDC my millie no problem. A guy I know EDC's his Cold Steel Rajah II (that's a 6" blade!).

Endura 4 ZDP-189. I'm looking for a bigger knife that'll hold an edge for a good amount of time.

I'm an admirer of Spyderco's designs. Using them is like immersing yourself in music or studying a painting in a museum. I buy some "fine" art but my preference is for usable art.

Searched for pics of the JD Smith. A Beaut! Blade reminds me a bit of my :spyder: Renegade.

I just ordered a black pacific salt SE. Its a combo of both my first spyderco for 2009 and it was paid for with Christmas money. So its a Christmas gift that I will eventually receive w/in the first days of 09.

Although I got a kershaw chive for christmas (which is actually a great knife), I decided to buy myself a SS SE dragonfly. I just ordered it yesterday so it will be here at the very start of '09. Can't wait for it....

My first Spyder purchase of 2009 will be a black blade delica. I'm going to buy a black blade endura, Barong and JD smith, too.

Folding knives can be classified in two large groups: Spydercos and the rest!

Please be patient, I dont speak english properly.
