Hi all,

Ordered a Paramilitary today. My first purchase was the Stretch, then the Caly3. The Paramilitary will fill the gap between the two. The Caly3 is my office knife. The Stretch is my emergency/all-purpose/weekend knife. The Paramilitary will be my EDC/emergency/all-purpose/office/anywhere knife; my holy grail. How do you feel about your Paramilitary and where it fits into your lifestyle? How do any of your knives fit into your lifestyle??

Well, as I am retired and live in a small town where there is a great variety of eccentric people, nobody pays any notice of my Military EDC. The Military is very much a part of me and it is carried into banks, bars and diners among other places.

I love to get away to the woods as well and I have found that with nothing more than a Millie and an axe, I can be quite comfortable. The thing that I have found about Spyderco knives, is that the more you use them, the better they get. I wish that I could say the same about myself.

Edit - You can just as well substitute Para-Military for Military in the above, as I love them both.

My Caly 3 and my Para are my most frequent Spyderco carries. If the whole family goes hiking or camping, my wife carries the Para and I carry a Military. Either way, the Caly 3 goes along in RFP and one of the bigger blades rides IWB.

Something sharp goes alng with me every day, every place, even around the house. Been doing that for 55+ years and I'm sure I'll be buried with a couple of blades... just in case I need them for whatever's next.

I have had my Para for a few years now. It has not ever let me down. It does very well for work with gloves as Spyderco intended. Light, strong, and capable are the words I would use to describe it. So far I have not found a use for more knife than the Para.

The Paramilitary is without a doubt the best knife around. I have lots of knives, but the Paramilitary always finds a way into my pocket...

IMHO the Para is a just the right size for me. A little large for office carry. I have 3 Para's that have been customized. I have been carrying my FG D2 Para that was modded for Tip up Wire Clip carry :) Nice deep carry and no sharp edges while putting my hand in my pocket. I wonder if my blue weave is jealous :p

I just got my first Spyderco yesterday. The ParaMilitary in Foliage G10 with D2 steel. Oh yeah, baby. :D So far, I love it EXCEPT the clip provides for tip-down only. BOXER93, can you provide any info about the clip mod you did? The Para's a great knife with great D2 steel, solid construction and I love the green G10 handles. I don't think anyone can go wrong with a Para!

My Para-Military PE is in rotation with my Military PE, Manix PE, and Chinook 3 PE for the rear position of my RFP. What's cool about my Para-Military PE is that it's a good choice if I want a larger blade than my Delica 4 PE to carry in potentially "PC" situations. A very cool knife!

I found that the tip was a little on the thin side on mine. I sold it and bought a Delica 4. Not saying it's a bad knife, just wish it had a thicker tip on it.

My mod was done by TRICOD. I provided the clip from a UKPK He has pics on his blog. http://southardknives.blogspot.com/ I don't know if he is still modding them. He was unable to source the wire clips at the time. I love the para in tip-up configuration.

I ordered my FG para a few days ago, ive wanted one for a while. Ive been keeping tabs on them on E-**y and a website that had a great price on them, they also showed quantity in stock, they lowered the price by $2 and they went from having 22 to under 10 overnight so i pulled the trigger.

It will probably be a safe queen, ill get a black blade/scales para for EDC, i know ill love it, My regular military is in use non stop. I carried the police model for many many years too and is still one of my favs. I think im just done with all SS knives for EDC, they slip out my pockets to easy, esp when i have work pants on (dickies)

I think it's the best knife ever made. I think you will enjoy it.

I've been carrying my foliage green CPM-D2 model as of late and I love it more and more.

If you don't already know, the Paramilitary is my favorite knife ever. It's a really great knife.

i love my para SE! its awesome! see's plenty of pocket time going everywhere w/ me.
The only thing i dont like about the para is......oh wait :p

i love the para, i have two, one black SE blade, and one satin PE, the black para was my camping knife for two or three years, and seen some hard work, it never let me down, and still looks like new, i bought the stain PE one about three months ago and it's my only EDC since, the best knife i'v ever had, the only thing i think needs to be changed is the clip, this knife must have a tip up wire clip.

Love the Para in terms of ergo's and handling.

I hate the off centreness most of them come with and that "soon to be wobbly" compression lock.

Had 2 of them this way and got rid of them both.

I'd love to have a Para with a nested liner lock like the Military. That might put my Millie back in it's box.

Tomorrow, tomorrow, I love you tomorrow. What a glorious day it will be. No matter how the day goes, my new Spyderco Para Military will be delivered. I've tracked it to San Pablo, CA all the way from Virginia. Won't be long now! How funny it is to await the arrival of a new knife. It really is the little things in life. :)
