I like the affordable option! If it is a mule, then you could put what ever color handle on it you want?Marion David Poff wrote:Mule for me, since that could probably be the most affordable version.

Ironwood, Olive wood, bone, horn, antler, CF, G-10--- (Even Dark Green for Sequemite), Could put a brass bolster on it and pearl scales.
Let your imagination run wild! For the really imaginative. Frog bone, Unicorn horn, MArval Horn!

IMight actually be the least affordable, unless they used low quality damascus for the Mule.Marion David Poff wrote:Mule for me, since that could probably be the most affordable version.

Damascus is priced by the inch, and while it is sold by the linear inch the pricing does reflect cubic inches. So, for a given pattern by a given maker, length, width, and thickness all enter into the price. Full tang fixed blades in general and wide, thick ones in particular, use a lot more cubic inches than a gent's folder or even a larger tactical folder would. You could probably, for example, get at least six Kopa blades out of a thinner piece of steel of the size needed for one Mule.

I think it should be a folder, like the Worker model in a cool new handle material...say polished silver twill G10
The ONLY other producton damascus blade was the Zowada Worker in the Evolution Set. We all know there are not many out there and only a hand full of people carry or use them.
The profile of the worker blade would be usefull and allow for a lot of blades to be cut per inch of barstock.

Think mokume would be more appropriate for coins, but some of the more radical damascus, like this...Peter1960 wrote:I always thought this might happen some day: We have a new forum currency :D :D :D

Sorry to revive an old thread but I think the subject matter is still fairly relevant ... I hope :D
I have been really keen to see a Damascus Spyderco folder, ever since seeing a 'special' that one of the UK members of BritishBlades has. From reading some threads I understand Sal isn't the biggest fan of Damascus but the special-edition Delica makes me wonder if he has softened a little on the issue? :)
Personally, I'd love to see a Damascus UKPK leaf-blade in something like Damasteel Rose (but any Damascus pattern would be very nice) ... the wide blade would show off the steel's pattern nicely without using a huge lump of Damasteel, so it might be more cost-effective that something larger, like a Mule.
Is there any chance that this could be the next UKPK variant, after the Ti and CF versions? :D

My spydies: Squeak, Tenacious, Terzuola, D'Allara, UKPK CF peel-ply pre-production, UKPK CF smooth pre-production, UKPK G10 orange leaf-blade, UKPK FRN grey drop-point, UKPK FRN maroon leaf-blade, Bug ... all PE blades :)
