Free 250GB Lifetime File Savr Filehosting Account
Through 9/15. File Savr is offering free 250GB Lifetime File Savr Filehosting Accounts. Normally $10/month. Limit 10GB per file. The service they offer is comparable to RapidShare. http://www.filesavr.com/deal.php
Pulled from my other online home ;) I've got my account going.

I'll be poking on it tonght, load a couple of virtual machine files on there (4gb files). See what kind of speed it gets.

I'll probably end up using it like I did with X-Drive before they started charging.

Be weary Vampirewolf...
Mostly free high volume storage freeware are unreliable imho..............

Data being safed and proper system back up will take more time but always safe . I'm weary off mirrored hard drives...

This is from their terms of use page. "and all services are provided as-is. Any individual utilizing the services provided by FileSavr does so at their own risk"

And this is the entire privacy policy.

Privacy Policy
Your email is not shared or sold to anyone. Only upload files that do not contain confidential information because anyone can guess the URL and download the file.

I would be weary of this personally.

personally I carry a 250gb hard drive and have a 160gb NAS with ftp access at home. Not to mention the 40gb worth of sdhc cards and usb drives that are in my bag. I backup my personal files off my laptop and towers both to dvd-rw/dl and the 500gb external... no danger of losing anything beyond a week or so, and even then that is going to be on my 250gb most likely.

The free online file sharing services are little more than a file swapping host. Fire up pics or a program you want to share, stuff thats not mission critical or personal, and if it goes missing is no big deal.

If someone is looking for personal file storage they're better off setting up a spare old tower as a server and leaving it online all day. Think my NAS has 128mb ram and a 500mhz processor in it.

Oh i see,

I used gigasize in the past but uploading took ages and is limited to 300 mb a file.

I'll look into it. Might be handy for swapping files across the planet ;) .
