Kopa = Bottleopener

I was at a small wedding this weekend that was just held at a house. Well I happened to be drinking Heineken and when I went to open the bottle with the opener (one of the ones on top of the cork-screw) SNAP, I broke the cheap thing. Well there wasn't another opener around so I popped out my Kopa and using the same technique as with a lighter off the cap came. I did have a opener on my keys in my jacket so I got it afterwards and donated it to the bar.
Just wondering if anyone else has used their Kopa for this purpose in a pinch.

My buddy uses his meadowlark as his bottle opener almost exclusively.

OMFG!!!! using a Kopa as a bottle opener !!!! :eek:
I've never considered that ! But I'm sure it worked well enough, just don't do it too often with that little number :)
Great to hear different uses for knives, especially like this one where the Kopa is not really designed for such jobs.

See, a knife is just the ultimate of all survival tools.
There has been a time that I popped open my beer bottles with the spine of a opened folder more then anything else.
Changed to tinnies some time ago.

Been there, did that. All the time, I may add.

Not with the Kopa, but the spine of my Adventura does it nicely. :)

Here's my Caly JR. It's my bottle opener.

I use my waved endura.
How exactly do you do it with a non waved knife? Obviously the cali has been wedged, I get you wedge it inbetween your hand some way and pop the top.
Most of my beer is twist off.

I also use my $300 Kopa as a beer bottle opener, but mostly as a screwdriver, a paint-scraper, a pry bar, a hammer, a fishing weight, a shim, a BBQ skewer, a door jam, a dart, occasionally as a toothpick, and as buckshot in my blunderbuss. At least the box is still in good shape (it's one of the old grey ones). :D :D :D
