UKPK Blade Play?

#1

Post by nathan310 »

I was reading a mini review on british blade and the guy said that the UK Pen Knife has blade play.

Has anyone noticed that on theirs?

I ordered one recently and I'm just wondering.

Thanks.

mine doesnt have any at all, obviously it would have to be side to side blade play if it had it at all because the blade doesnt lock.

in my honest opinion i couldnt see that knife having any at all for some reason

Thanks.

I figured it would have to be side to side.

Does that thing close easy?

Can it be closed with one hand?

its a ruff one to open and close but its in its nature to be secure for not locking

no, i usually always buy serrated which always cuts no matter what, but recently ive learned to like combo edge, i actually take care of my knives not cutting major stuff thatll dull them, dont get me wrong i use them alot but certain situations someone will ask if they could use my knife to cut something that i know will just rock the crap outa of the blade and ill say no use something else, sorry but its my knife and i dont want it ******

Check these out...

They're very easy to use.

It holds the knife at the right angle so you can't mess it up.

http://theconsumerlink.com/product_deta ... Start=118&.

You just put it in then push with the coarse stone until you get a bur...

It might take some time but you must get a bur if you want it very sharp!

A bur just means you have cut through the old edge to the other side and have started a new edge.

And when you rub your finger over it you can feel it catch slightly on your finger.

Flip it over get another bur...

Then move to red stone(fine) sharpen one side flip over and repeat on the next side until it can shave hair and there's no bur.

Then move to the green stone(extra fine) and finish it off doing the same thing.

And make sure you dont have any bur left because it can cause the edge to roll or become dull very fast.

Next thing you know you have a scary sharp knife.

I have both.

I like the dmt because it seems quicker and IMO if you're inexperienced the aligner kit is harder to mess up.

I have raised a bur in less than a minute on dmts before.

And if you buy the extra coarse stone it's crazy fast.

Don't get me wrong the sharpmaker is good too.

actually the other night the plain part on my combo edge wasnt sharp at all so on my way into the house i grabbed the JA Henckel sharping rod from my kitchen knife set and gave it a couple of good slow wipes on just the plain edge part and to my surprise it actually worked very well, thats the only sharpening ive ever done, once

You sound like a natural.

If you were able to get it sharp on your first try that's pretty good.
