Dunno that they ever made a black handled Navigator per se. There was a grayish (almite?) handled model a while back, but I don't know where to find those. If you're looking to buy from someone on these forums, you should know that solicitation is against the rules here. Best look at http://www.knifebst.com/bst/index.php

Yes it was a G-10, I bought one new years back and some young kid stole it out of my truck. Thanks for your help,

John F Jensen always has some old Spyderco stock. Other than that I'm stumped.

Bam-it,

You looking for a Navigator or Navigator II? I ask only because some folks don't realize that there was a Nav II.......or others don't realize that there was an original Navigator.

Good question David I really don't know. I found one that looks like the one I had but with a serrated edge in the bay auction. I guess if I don't know the difference I can't expect much help. I will do some research and then follow up on this question. Many Thanks,

If it was G-10, it was definitely either an original Navigator, or carried the even earlier "Experimental 2" designation. They do show up on eBay occasionally, but as with most Spyderco models where there is collector interest, the PE ones show up less frequently and bring higher prices than the serrated. The G-10 version apparently did not sell well originally, because it only was produced for a short period of time. That, plus the fact it's been out of production for about ten years, makes it unlikely you'll find an online dealer that has one. Best bet is to keep an eye on eBay, BladeForums Exchange forurm, and the KnifeForums Sales Area and have a lot of patience.

If you're looking for a user, buying a Nav 2 and having it customized is an option - I believe you could even buy a Dragonfly for the blade & lockbar and have whatever shape scales you like cut.

My girlfriend liked my Navi so much I had to buy a second :)

How can I tell an Experimental CX02 ( Navigator ) from a Navigator C62. I have a PE Navigator - Gin1 steel blade made in Seki City Japan and a US Patent # 4347665 on the pocket clip registered to Louis S. Glessler. LINK TO PATENT INFORMATION = http://www.patentstorm.us/patents/4347665.htmlImage TIA

Short simple answer, on the G-10 version, you really can't. Only difference was the box, the knife stayed the same. Almite version is a different story, Experimental handles were solid, Navigators had a series of slots in the handle.
