Spyderco work knife

#1

Post by Bam-it »

I'm looking for a smaller to mid size Spyderco plain edge knife with clip. Something that want panic management when I pull it out to use. Also one that can handle normal use and abuse. I was thinking about the Atlantic salt or maybe a dragonfly. Please give me your advice. Thanks,

I deliver and pick up equipment for Pepsi and have used my orange one in front of many people in many stores without a raised eyebrow.
One of the best knives Spyderco has ever made.
I hope someday they do it with Silver tweed G10.

What about a delica ?
i think it's THE good deal for "civil" work use, it's doesn't look impressive, easy to carry with FRN scales, and real cheap compared to its real value. You abused it and it's broken, just get another one :D

Salt 1 is identical to the Pacific Salt but on a smaller basis (think Delica and Endura). The differences between the Salt I and the Atlantic is size and blade-shape. I think you'll like the Salt I. By my observations, they are quite popular here on the forums partly due to their resemblance to the older generation Delica 3's. I have a yellow one in SE that I'm quite fond of (it's my "vacation" knife). Not a bad choice.

Good choice.

I own one too, and I'm quite satisfied of it, even if the H1 blade is a little harder to sharpen, it's a real good knife.

Well, I wanted to propose the Delica as well. However, I have to warn you that buying a Delica should be done after serious consideration...
It is such a good knife it may be the last one you'll ever need. ;)

As you say, Delicas are almost perfect.

For my use, I carry them at work and they're just perfect, but for outdoor use, they seem too small for me :D

In my work inviroment were i am somtime in the office and most of the time on the road at customers (in print shops) i carry little Byrd robins there cheep enough to actually use and small enough to not draw attention. But i have been finding them a little small handeld to make the big tough cuts (big nylon straps) so i bought a Crow. But if i was not going to abuse it and just use it for office carry i wpould get a nice Ukpk or one of them fancy gentalmens knives.

Just my 2 cents

True, what you buy after a Delica is just for fun or to keep the monkey quiet.

Well I found a co-worker today that had the knife I wanted. It's a yellow Spyderco Salt C88PYL with a 3" plain edge H1 blade. Man that knife is bad, I love the size and the look. Thanks,
