Being new to the forum, maybe this has been addressed before. Has there been a thread on which model has been the most popular since the begining? If not. How about everyone stating thier opinion.

Welcome. I saw your first post & you have some of the classic spydie models already.
I guess the answer to your question depends on how you view popular. If its sales figures I would guess that hands down the most popular would have to be the Delica or Endura.
Popular among the forumites however, may be different. Favorites here would probably include both of those as well as the Caly 3, the Stretch 2, the hawkbills and Manix models. The Dodo is well loved and the Yojimbo gets a lot of love too.
I am currently loving a Caly Jr, and I have a soft spot for the Dragonfly.

I have been accumulating Spyders for years, but am new to this forum. My personal favorite and my EDC is a Russell white baby Horn with the clip removed. It is readily available for my daily needs and sits easily in my pocket. Without the clip no one even knows I'm carrying. Carried this one for over 10 years. :)

That would be my guess also.

Depends on you test of popularity. I believe the Delica has outsold all other models by a fairly substantial margin, so I'd call it the most popular. But the Police has been in the lneup continuously and virtually unchanged longer than any other model, so it should probably get some recognition for longevity.

All good points. The totally non scientific method I use is to listen to people taslk, and browse forums. I'd say the biggest overall sellers would be
1) delica all models
2) endura all models
3) millie all models
4) native all models
5) police all models
6) Gets difficult here. The current , hottest models areladybugs, Caly ( all models), Salt models, para, manix, ukpk, Chinooks, etc, etc......
Of the discontinued models ( besides manix) it would be tough to call. I don't know run sizes, which helps but doesn't tell the whole story.
On the other hand I should shut up and listen to deacon, yablonowitz, and tonydahose amongst some of the other experts here that actually know what they're talking about.
If I'm right I think I deserve a free knife from Spyderco. Why, just because! After all while everybody else was making money at good jobs I was busy with my secret agent stuff, astronaught training, Tracking down loose nukes in the former SU, Advancing medicine with my 3 specialities in pediatric medicine, running free legal clinics for the indigent, fighting for the environment, and being an all around nice guy.
Or, you could say I'm now broke from buying too many spydies. Joe

And, it would be difficult to find a basic "what knife should I buy?" thread at this, and most other knife themed forum where the delica isn't one of the first knives mentioned.
There are a lot of good reasons for this. longevity, bang for the buck, flavor for every taste/need, and a huge name brand recognition probably only equaled by the Buck company with their model 110, folding hunter.
The Delica is much more practical in todays urban/suburban environment though IMO. Apparently, reading the forums, a lot of people agree.
I like it, but typically have carried the endura since 92. Joe

First off, welcome to the forums! As per the threat topic, I would wager to say that the Delica and Endura are the most popular models simply because (as I understand it) they're the ones that really revolutionized the folding knife market at the time that they were created. Well, with respect to their features. I think that the Delica is basically just a smaller Endura, too, since the design is pretty similar. Like most other posters have said, I think it's quite popular because its size doesn't "conflict" with most knife laws that are on the books (no matter how much I disagree with them - see some of my other posts for that :D ). I guess my personal favorite (to date) is the Native III, but I don't think that it is one of the most popular ones by any stretch.
