Bearded Dragons

Post by Piercieve »

I just got a bearded dragon, and I have to say, these are some awesome pets. This reptile has more personality than a cat. :D
I got a 5 and 1/2 inch lil' guy and he eats an incredible amount of crickets per day... He eats pears and carrots out of my hand as well.
He fell asleep on my chest last night

His name is Treadwell. :)

Haha you have no idea. They're not cute for long though, give it 6 months and they look pretty intimidating.

Had several myself and they are quite amusing. Mine loved peas. Make sure to give him calcium supplement, its important as these guys grow like weeds.
So many knives, so few pockets... :)

Yes sir, I dust my crickets daily. I'll be sure to see if he likes peas.

On a side note, I use my Dragonfly for all my fruit slicing/unpackaging needs. :)

Congratulations!

I remember one of the "animal guys" once mentioning on his TV show that Bearded Dragons are now considered domestic animals because they've been captive bred for so long, and as a result they're probably the best herp pet available.

Have fun with him. :)

Very cool!

I have Leopard Geckos, and while they're not quite as "domestic" as a Bearded Dragon (they sometimes try to jump right out your hand and escape), they are awesome pets! I know what you mean about reptiles having personality; I can tell most of the time which of the Geckos we have out, just by how they act (we have 9). :D

My wife has an African Clawed Frog. She loves it.

To me, the thing looks like a floating wart with legs....and claws.....and beady little eyes.

Creeps me out.

Fortunately, it stays in the aquarium.

I told my wife if it ever gets out and she can't find it, we are MOVING... :D

Enjoy yer lizard..
