I appreciate news from "the dude at the knife counter"
People say, oh it's dangerous to keep weapons in the home, or the workplace. Well I say, it's better to be hurt by someone you know, accidentally, than by a stranger, on purpose. - Dwight The Office
It's okay for me to talk about my job, as long as I'm not specific. I am the Sergeant of a three-man Rapid Tactical Force at one of America's largest indoor retail shopping areas. - Gecko_45
The more you learn about knives, the better Spyderco looks. - Sal

Sounds like the sort of news that usually comes out on April 1.

The "soul" of hi-tech materials like G-10, H1, ZDP, Titanium, carbon fiber, etc is found in the performance. That appreciation of the "spirit" comes out in time, after use. It's saying, you can depend on me! I'm there for you no matter what! - Sal Glesser

I don't see why so many people seem to think this is an absolutely absurd proposition. None of us have any idea as to the financial situations of either Benchmade or Spyderco. If it makes good business sense to both companies, and they can agree upon the proper terms, I don't see any reason why such a collaboration, merger, etc., couldn't possibly occur at some point.

I don't think people are commenting on this being an absolutely absurd proposition as much as how "a guy at the knife counter" seems to be the only source of this "information."
In other words, if someone at a used car lot told me with absolute conviction that Ford and Chevy were combining, I'd have much the same reaction.
