That's the One!

I reckon Spyderco has been around for more than 10 years.

Perhaps now is the time to ask the question:

Which particular one of the many Spyderco models that shot the firm into prominence?

I am sure among the more famous brands, some of their founders would look back nostalgically 20 years later and said: "Ah, that's the model that did it for us. If only we could produce a few more gems like that."

Golok, spyderco has been around for about 20 years. I suppose one of their most popular models would have been the worker as it wss in production for nearly 20 years.....After getting the commemorative edition, I can see why.

My two cents:

The most popular Spyderco knives have been the Endura, Delica, and Police model. The Worker, of course, was a mainstay.

IMHO, I don't believe that you can narrow it down to just ONE model that has made Spyderco what they are today. They have incorporated a number of "features" into their knives that have changed the entire knife industry.

The trademarked Spyderhole, for example. It's been duplicated, replicated, and plain ol' copied, by almost everyone.

The Clip-it. Spyderco was the first. Today, how many folding knives can you think of that have a clip on it?

The SpyderEdge. Ditto. How many folders and non-folding knives have serrated edges?

In short, I believe Spyderco can be credited for revolutionizing the knife industry not with one knife, but with their vision, their excellent products, the way they do business, and the way they treat their customers.

"Hope for the best. Be prepared for the worst. You'll never be disappointed."
