Any show and tell on your SAGE?
Any show and tell on your SAGE?
Lets hear from you. I didn't order mine till today, so I know some of you will get yours before I will. I am so looking forward to this one. The photos anyway, look to have a lot of what I like in a small folder. LEAF BLADE, SIMPLE HANDLE, WIDE AT THE P PIN, WIRE CLIP, FLAT GRIND, etc.
I wonder about the "texture" Sal talks about on the CF, got to be a good thing. :D :D
Please post pictures.

SCARAMOUCHE!

On first examination, it's a great little knife.
The CF "texture" (I'd call it woven) is cool looking, and has a nice feel in your hand. The fit and finish are excellent. The liner lock is easy to manipulate, and feels solid.
The blade shape has been described as a cross between the Caly 3 and Native. I would agree, and I get the feeling it will work well for a variety of tasks.

I'm an admirer of Spyderco's designs. Using them is like immersing yourself in music or studying a painting in a museum. I buy some "fine" art but my preference is for usable art.

I call it woven because it has the look and feel of being woven out of strips.gull wing wrote:Tell me more about the "texture" on the CF.
3D checkerboard would be another way to describe it.
From Mr Blonde's Amsterdam prototype pics, it looks like the CF Native 4 will have the same texture:

Didn't know it is coming out so quickly, and just place the other thru NGK, I don't want to remember how much I spent on :spyder: in 2008 so far

Texture
Regarding the carbon fiber, does it actually have a slight physical checkered texture or is it just a visual effect?

Micro-Manix?
Is it just me, or does the blade in Catamount's picture scream MINI-MANIX? Makes me all excited for the BB, Comp., and backlock versions.
Ask me where I got my awesome SUPERHAWK!

Alrighty! My Sage arrived today. I was a little leery of the "made in Taiwan", but my fears were for naught. This knife is built to the standards of my other Spydies. Feels good in the hand and I really like CF.
Nice Carbon Fiber handles
Black wire pocketclip (for those who want be stealthy)
Steel liners
Torx screw construction
Walker Linerlock (mine locks up solid too)
Quality spacers
Blade is tight (no blade wobble in any direction)
Finger choil is jimped to match thumb ramp
Flat ground leaf style blade
Excellent size
Only dislike.... no hole for a lanyard.
If you're on the fence about the Sage, get off! Order yourself one right now, you'll be glad you did. :D
Warning: Pic Heavy

It's better to have knife and not need it than to need a knife and not have it.
