Techno 2 arrived today. I was surprised by how thick the Ti slabs were.
Re: Show off your latest purchase
T'was the Ladybug3 k390.
Had a giant burr left on the factory edge.
Cleaned it and tried to keep this edge as long as possible but it wasn't performing as it should've.
So, I sharpened it up to 600 grit and strop on a 3µ green compound. The experience is NOTHING like on that factory edge!
It's a real slicer now.
Btw, it went ultra fast, the edge was put with a 320 and 600 diamond in like 5 mins stropping included.

Awesome! K390 is amazing stuff. I was really surprised the first time I sharpened it. I did not expect it to get so sharp so quickly and easily. Nice photo by the way!Ramonade wrote: ↑Sat Nov 13, 2021 12:32 pmT'was the Ladybug3 k390.

The tip rolled today, as I was cutting paper in a wanted shape on a fake wood desk (don't remember the word for it...). It surprised me a lot !Nuh Nups wrote: ↑Thu Nov 18, 2021 12:43 pmAwesome! I've cut a lot with it already, but i feel like the last 0,5" is not as sharp as it was.
I'll strop it tonight (or it'll get the 320 grit only treatment!).

A couple USA made beauties arrived this week! This Military was a grail for me and I am beyond stoked to have been able to get this knife! Safe to say, I need a little break on the spending now.

Re: Show off your latest purchase
Thanks bud! It's actually my 3rd. My first was a S110V model that I honestly, and stupidly never gave a chance around 4 years ago? I thought it was way too big (was in a Para 3 phase at the time). I sold it after a week or so. Then I had the other KnifeWorks exclusive in 204P. Really like the knife, loved those green handle scales. But, I chose offer it to someone that I know really desired it. I know he really likes it, so no harm done!
I've always thought this one was awesome, loved everything about it. Had chances to get it for months a few years ago while it was still in stock. That was before, when dropping $200+ on a knife was crazy to me (sometimes I wish I still had that mentality!)
A couple weeks ago in one of the Military threads, I mentioned wanting that knife, and it being a Spyderco grail of mine. Especially no longer having a Military in my collection! A few days later I received a PM offering it, basically new in box!
I've said it elsewhere, the Military model has come full circle for me. This particular model being the cream of the crop with a steel I've never owned and I already know will love using at work. Two of my favorite materials used for the handles...this one is never going anywhere!
Sorry for the book!

No, no, I liked hearing your thoughts. I've got an S90V Millie as well (the Bento, not that nice CF), and I gotta say, that steel makes so much sense on that platform. Makes for a killer yard work knife.

I'm not going to talk about the other one. I'm looking away.
