Sequence of sharping (all 4 rods)

hi!
could you tell me what is a sequence of sharping ?
I used the Sharpmaker and all four hones (diamonds, medium, fine, and ultra-fine).

I now that first medium , after fine , and ultra-fine. But when I should use diamonds rods ?

The diamond rods are used to remove a lot of steel quickly: for example, if you wished to change the primary bevel of a blade; or as the first step in sharpening a really dull/abused knife.
