The more I carry my Native...

#1

Post by sharkattack »

... the more my other Spydies gather dust. I bought a new Delica a couple of weeks prior to the Native and loved carrying it. However, and there's always a 'however' in life, after getting the Native in my hand and carrying it for a few days, I'm hooked! I absolutely love this knife. It fits my hand much better than the Delica, I like the blade (shape and steel) much better, it holds an edge better, and it just feels more 'solid' overall.

Anyone else think that they had 'the' knofe, only to find one that really was 'the one' that you've been searching for?

I just can't say anough about this Native. Now I know why guys have multiples of this knife.

Excellent work Sal. If you ever decide to discontinue the Native, I think you'd have a small revolution on your hands.
My collection so far: Delica SS PE, Delica 4 FRN PE, Endura FRN SE, Manix 2 G10 PE. Since I've officially been bitten by the bug, the collection is sure to grow... :)

I love my Native as well. I've had mine for about two months and it was just starting to get a little dull when Santa brought a Sharpmaker. After five minutes on the whites, and four passes on a strop it's the sharpest knife i've ever held, bar none. Did I mention I love my Native too?

Yup, chalk another one up for the Native. I use mine daily and it has proven time after time to be a favorite EDC. I am hoping that the D2 Milli and PE Para that I ordered will give my Native a rest. Aw, who am I kidding? The Native will just find it's way into a different pocket. ;)

Ah, yes...the Native. Native III Plain Edge is my absolute favorite. Even over my other expensive knives. Yes I do have multiples of the Native, lots of multiples.
It's better to have knife and not need it than to need a knife and not have it.

The Native is the one that started it all for me. I do not have near the collection that many of you here have, but the Native is a real gem.

The Native is the staple diet for most Spyderco users/ lovers/ afi's. Take into consideration that Walmart distribute this as well (C41) and you'll understand how this particular model feeds Spyderco and thus allows us fan(atics) the luxury of playing with Spyderco's less profitable models :)

For me it is a must have knife for everyone. If not for its merits, then for a great cheap EDC. By saying cheap I do not mean sub-standard at all. It is just a very affordable and another one of the under-rated Spydies floating around.

I love my Natives :p

:spyder: I have a dusty native on my knife rack that I've been looking to give away to the right friend. nice knife and I love the success of wal-mart for Spyderco but ya reall need to use the choil to use it well and I like to keep the choil forward of my fingers. I'm glad there's a model for everyone! :) :spyder:

nice Native collection Dan. :)
Question: I see that you have 2 black blade ones, what are the differences between the two, the other seems to have the :spyder: logo... Is the other one a PE and the next one a CE?

You got it in one !

1 black bladed beauty is a PE with no Spyder logo, the other is the black bladed CE with the gold logo. Actually couldn't figure out why the Spyder logo was omitted from the PE versions.

I can't wait for Sal to announce a black bladed Native III, or a SS Native IV, and while he's at it ;) A FFG Native V :p

I found the beauty of the Native in the Native III model. I enjoy it much more than the regular Native in S30V. I prefer the VG-10 steel and I dig the handle more. :)

Enjoy the Native. It is a great knife. In fact, I have a Native III PE in my pocket right now. :D
