The Spyderco Crew Kopa gift

#1

Post by Fred Sanford »

Here is the Mother of Pearl / Abalone Kopa that the kind folks at Spyderco sent me for putting together the idea of the Spyderco Lunch gift. Everyone should know that I had the help of a ton of other people. If you want to see the entire thing as it unfolded you can visit here: http://www.phpbbplanet.com/spydiegift/ The Lunch gift forum is hidden and you have to register to see the contents. This was done to keep certain information away from certain folks.

I don't honestly think that I deserve this knife and it is a much appreciated gift. I've been carrying it around all night.

Here are a couple more threads if you want to know more about the reason behind this knife.

Congratulations on the knife David, and your photos of it are excellent. I find pearl to be an extremely difficult material to photograph, and you did an exceptionally good job with it.

Thanks for all the comments folks. I do appreciate them. Paul, thanks for the compliment!

224477, as far as I know that's how they all come now. So I imagine that the old box will become scarce after a while just like the white boxes.

Very nice, indeed.

Is this going to see some use or is it going to be a show piece?

deeker,

It's going to be a user. It will not be used hard, but it will be used. So far it has only cut a plastic cable tie (zip-tie). I carried it to work today but I didn't cut anything at all with it. I think I should probably find more stuff to cut at work. :D

I figure that I just can't let the knife sit in a box. Thing is, I came home tonight and rubbed it all down with a nice cotton cloth and cleaned it up and put it back in the box. I just feel like I need to do that with that particular knife.
