Black FRN Salt I, PE blade

H1 is clearly stamped.

I love my Salt I and abuse it whenever I go for picnics in cutting fruits and sandwiches for the kids.

However, when I did a test of the blade in some salty water I did note that it did develop some staining/ rusting within 1 day (on the 1 part in the H1 stamp :O) I will be keeping my eye on that one.

Cheers

You know...funny you should mention that...I had a similar issue with mine after severe salt water exposure. It was a rust-colored discoloration that seemed to originate around the H1 blade stamp. For the most part the staining wiped right off but it does look like the "1" in the H1 is discolored (sort of a yellow). Never could figure out if this was an issue with the steel itself or related to the stamp.

The Deacon kindly explaned to me that it was just some slight discolouration from the engraving process and it is nothing to worry about. It wipes of clean and no sign of futher staining has been evident since.

We would rather be the knife in your pocket, because is "works" better, than the knife in your showcase, because it "looks" better.
