I just ordered 3 Spyderco D'allara drop point PE folders. Let me know what you guys like or dislike about this knife and comments in general on it. Thanks.

great knife, i have the combo edge myself. the ball lock works great. it is a little thick in the pocket but in the hand it feels great.

I didn't like it, it was way too big when closed.

I like the knife very much. It is a large knife when opened or closed but the handle feels awesome. On top of that, the lock is just amazing. Great knife.

May I ask why you ordered 3 of them? Just curious.

That doesnt matter to much to me I since EDC a Military anyhow.

I EDC a Military too but the D'allara is not big as in long, it's big as in wide, very wide.

1 to carry 2 to hold onto. I purchase knives in quantities of 3-6.
I puchased 3 Military's at the same time, 3 Police's at the same time, 7 Endura 4's (4 VG-10 3 ZDP-189) at the same time, and 2 natives at the same time. If I find a knife I like I get multiples of the same knife. It is just a little OCD of mine when it comes to knife collecting. Plus you never know when Spyderco is going to discontinue a make or model and you want another. I can always sell them if I need to.

I have a tendancy to carry a ton of stuff in my pockets so I am sure I wont mind it. In fact when I was younger a few people gave me the nickname "Pockets". It cant be too much worse than a Buck 110 or a Leatherman Surge.

The Buck 110 is svelte compared to the D'Allara.

I had a D'allara Rescue that I carried at work for awhile.The only reason I got rid of it was to try something new.I loved the lock,and the action was like butter.Actually it was so smooth that I had to tighten the pivot a little to keep it from opening in my pocket.

It's size wasn't an issue for me because I wanted something sustantial and it fit the bill nicely.....Enjoy your new knives. :)

Nice knife, I carried it on my toolbelt at work for about a year. That got switched out for a Buck Strider (built like a tank) as I did not want to mess up the D'Allara. The D'Allara now resides in my flight helmet bag. The handle is the most three dimensional and thickest on a Spyderco. The fat handle sold me on it as a work knife or carpet tool, but I would never EDC it.

I liked it, but as some others have said, it was too wide for me to carry it comfortably. I carry a BM 710 quite a bit, and it's a fairly big knife, but feels like a pen knife in the pocket compare to the D'allara.

Excellent choice!

You will be surprised at how comfy the handle is, and the ball lock is very solid.

I think it is the one of Spyderco's best, I hope you enjoy carrying it.

Great feel in the hand. It is a bit bulky in the pocket, but I don't mind that too much.

One thing to watch is that the pivot doesn't get too loose. With the hefty blade it can have a tendency to flip open when, say, running down a flight of stairs with it clipped to your left cargo pocket... :o

I think its a nice knife but the ball lock is to much of a hassle to unlock but that is my only real problem with it, I do love the ergonomics of it.

I believe it was love at first site. I Liked them so much I ordered 5 of them PE then people got me scared that Spyderco was going to discontinue them in '08 so I ordered 2 more. Super smooth opening and closing. Fits the hand very well and it one tough mother. :spyder: D'Allara :spyder: :D :D :D
