Just like to hear some different reasons why pink is so coveted.
I suppose I want a pink spydie because it would be a real conversational piece.

I like pink because it's such a rare color on knives in general. And, as you mentioned, it's one heck of a conversation piece.

I bought the pink delica simply because its a rare color. It's a pretty "sharp" looking knife. ....and definitely a conversation piece

I know, I know! Because pink knives are sharper and cut better. Duh! :p

I believe that the pink knife is a novelty that will soon wear off. There is no long term potential for a pink knife in my opinion. It is probably the worst color choice ever for a knife handle. I bought a Pink Delica for my 8 year old daughter and even she thought it looked too "girly". I'm glad some of you "guys" like your pink knives.

Too girly? Wow, I'd love a pink knife! I'm holding out for the pink Endura, with that big blade it may even qualify as a "tomboy" knife

It's not. Nothing will ever replace black.
I, like Slatts, bought a pink Delica 4 and my daughter and my wife both think it's ugly and prefer my black or other colored Delicas. The guys at work think it's hideous. I bought it for the novelty I guess and because I figured there were not many made.
For me, I'll never do that again. Not with Pink, Purple, Lime Green, and also not bright orange. I like blue, green, black, yellow, tan, grey, and a few others. The extremes are too extreme for me. :)

I'm with Lowry. Nothing can replace black.
Bought a few ranger green G10 scaled knives, and even those don't appeal to me as much as black. As for pink, I could never purchase one of those for myself. I thought about getting a pink Delica or one of the upcoming pink Endura's for that special girl, but I don't even know if I could bring myself to purchase a pink knife at all!
But to each their own. I am in no way thrashing pink, I just couldn't own one for myself.

I like pink, but the Delica was too small & pink. Might have to get a pink Endura... Or wait for the Pink Matriarch... :p

I didn't buy a pink Delica because I just didn't feel the need to own another Delica Sprint, but I do happen to like pink in general. It would be nice to see Spyderco offer a purple Sprint of some sort in the future, as that's another colour I'm very fond of. And to anyone questioning the masculinity of a guy liking a pink or purple knife (or pink and purple in general), that's simply absurd.

It's only absurd if you carry it. :D

I'd like a Pink Delica with black blade, I think that could look pretty nifty.

The Pink Delica has to be the most noticeable knife.
The few times I have carried, people yell... "Hey, you are carrying a pink knife!!!"
yes but..

Totally agree with you Dedguy. I've said it in my "Barbie knife Review" and will concur with you .....pink Delica - black blade :p that would be an awesomely sexy knife :D
Back on topic.... I don't think that Pink is the new black. But black is old. Seems that more people are interested in coloured variations these days especially collectors. Black will most likely not be replaced. I have a few coloured handle blades, but almost always gravitate to the black ones for EDC.

I think any color is the new black, especially for Delica's and Endura's. Look at how many differnt colors they come in now. Personally I love it. Black is boring to me and I'm glad Spyderco has realized that a little spice in handle colors is a good thing. I say make other models in Pink in limited numbers like the D4 and you will capture more of the female market.

What could possibly be wrong with that?
As far as the guy's that think Pink knives are too "girly", you need to wake up and smell the coffee dudes! :p :D This isn't you grandfather's knife company!

From my personally point of collectors-view I've to say I enjoy pink as another variation. But I don't tinker with the idea to EDC it

Mr. Daniel, :D
I really hope that Pink isn't the new black! From the day I was born, I've black hairs and I'm accostomed to my hair color (at least for the few hairs I've now at my "old age" :p ).

Hey Felly,
To each his own. Sometimes Grandpa was right though :D My comments are tongue in cheek. I'm all about diversity of choices and will defend your right to carry whatever you want. I just think it's a unique but poor color for a serious tool. However, granted the best thing about a bright colored handle is an increased ability to find it if you drop it in the outdoors. That's why I wish would like to see more handles in
SAFETY ORANGE.
