Felly, to catch a rare Spyderco is one story, to catch a Spyderco under these circumstances is ...... ingenious, like winning in lotto. I'll nominate you for the award "Triumph of :spyder: Hunts" :D

The Dino Executive is the centrepiece of your collection, isn't it?

I would say the Dino Exec is by far the best looking Spyder I have in terms of "WOW" factor. Even my wife was impressed by it, and generally she doesn't pay attention to any of my knives.

Peter, if I said it was very "kostbar", would you understand? :D

Thanks J-Man! I just wonder what part of the dinosaur they got the bone from for this one? Someone had mentioned to me that they thought it looked like it could be from a tooth.
My next question would be, was it from a meat eater or a vegetarian? :D
Hi Felly,

the amimal was an omniporus, about 16 years old, 9 feet long. The bone came from his left rear big toe. Found near Seattle. Died from heart break. He's read that the mammals would win. ;)

Sal, I talked with Bill Wirtle at SFSW about this post and we both got a hearty chuckle over it! :D

One thing though, I was hoping you could be a little more specific about the animal. :p :D

Found another pic online of a dino bone Executive. Looks like it was shot through glass -like maybe the knife was on display at Spyderco perhaps:

NativeAmerican, The knife in this photo is on display at G. Sakai's museum in Japan, where the the photo was taken. I know the person who took the pic, and evidently Sal had given a Dino Bone to someone at G. Sakai years ago.

Nice catch congrats Felly!

I think dino bone would make a great, albeit expensive, Kopa variation!
