Been lurking for awhile, finally decided to join. Bought my first Spyderco, a 1st generation Delica G2 PE, about 12 years ago(?) and it's been my EDC ever since. Soon after that I bought a 1st generation Endura G2 SE. I use it mainly for canoeing and camping. It's always attached to a laniard and clipped to my life jacket. The serrated edge also makes the most awesome bun slicer for those canoeing/camping trips!

Welcome, now bid your savings account goodbye.

Ya, judging bysome of the collections I've seen here I believe some of you guys are broke! As much as I admire these knives, I'm not really a collector by nature. I only buy what I have a use for. Having said that I do have a use for two more. I'm looking at getting a Rescue to replace the Endura as a canoe knife I just haven't decided on which Rescue model yet. I also want a PE Endura to try out as a hunting knife. I need something that will hold an edge and take a bit of hard use for field dressing deer. The weight factor is a big reason for wanting the Endura. I try to keep my pack as light as possible as I often put a lot of miles on in some pretty rough country.

yeah my savings account is like stock in spyderco knives you find the rite ones hold them and in a little while like your savings account they get more value. and for a hunting knife the E4 would be a little out classed for that to much tip a moran would work much better or one of spyders made in mind with caping and gutting.

You should also take a long serious look at the Stretch (Model # C90) for field dressing deer. It's my knife of choice for that task.

yes i didn't think of that one the large round belly on it would be great for separating the meat and skin with out poking holes in the hide
