Old school folding pocket knife (circa 1622)!

Hi gang.

My wife and I just returned from an amazing vacation in Key West, FL.

While there one of our activities (among many) included a visit to the Mel Fisher Maritime Heritage Museum. There among all of the pirate treasure and artifacts, I found a folding pocket knife. I snapped a picture, and figured you knife nuts would get a kick out of seeing an authentic folding pocket knife from the 1600s.

Anyone else notice a striking similarity between this knife and a certain Spyderco model?

Enjoy.

Kind of looks like a Chinese Folder to me. I especially like the caption underneath though, '...much as it is today..'.

I was in Key West myself a month ago, very nice indeed.

Bingo! The Chinese Folder is what I thought of when I saw this knife.

The handle reminds me of the Laguiole.

Now that you mention it, I can see that as well.

Kind of like a Laguiole handle with a Lum shaped blade.
