Biggest Bang-For-The-Buck Spyderco?
What's the biggest bang-for-the-buck Spyderco? I'm not asking which is cheapest, I'm asking which is the best deal? Which knife gives the most, for the least? Feel free to interpret "most" however you like...utility, size of blade, quality of f&f, quality of steel, refinement of design, personal satisfaction...however you interpret "most." I also want to hear your explanation for your choice--thanks! :)

E4 ZDP BRG. This endura with it's ZDP blade and the enhancements that came with the E4 upgrade is not only Spyderco's best Bang for the buck but IMO it is the best production knife bang for the buck from any company. It is a better cutter than knives costing hundreds of dollars more and cutting is what knifes are for. If I could only have 1 knife this would be it. Joe

I'll say the Para Military. A great blade geometry, a great handle, a great lock, a great steel, great fit and finish. Can be had for right about a hundred dollars. That knife is a pleasure.

Biggest Bang for the buck?.....No doubt in my mind at all...has to be the Centofante III or IV...... Great ergonomics, super cutting and slicing ability, won't hurt the pocketbook at all and best of all it's a Centofante with a Spyderco Logo on it...which means quality, higest level of craftmanship, beauty, and function....Doc :D

call me cheap... I'd say the byrd line is the best bang for the buck :p
Can bet my niece will get one for her first. Not too concerned about her losing a $35 knife, but I'm not going to go cheap and risk it folding on her to save $20
As far as my personal fav, that'd go to either the frn endura or ss 'fly. Sure, the lil temp is a tank, the millie will do just about everything... but the frn endura and ss 'fly are in everyone's budgets.
The ss 'fly will take a LOT of abuse and keep kicking. I haven't had to tighten mine up, haven't killed much of the tip... though the convex edge took some steel off to get (of course having a thinned down blade with a 12-14deg inclusive edge didn't hurt). We're talking aug 2001 purchase and it's still kicking... despite doing stuff with it that would make W&R go nuts. :D
The frn endura beats most of the knives out there for durability compared to price. I did a lot of stuff to my endura that a lot of ppl are scared to doing with thier knife for fear of damage. Considering that the only damage I've done to my '98 model (ats-55, no dent) is twisting the clip enough that I can't have a clip on it anymore.... got a leather sheath made for that one :p haven't beat on my '01 (vg-10, dent) yet
Of course, if you don't want to go with a :spyder: , you can always harass craig (CKE) for a custom :D

Endura 4, any variety.
$50 for a knife that is a work horse and begs for more.
Spend $20 more and go with the ZDP variant and its icing on the cake.
Its the only :spyder: that I own multiples of.

ZDP Calypso Jr & Dodo
I have 2 models that I was very pleasantly surprised with. As far as a knife performing well for the price I had to pay for it the 2 that immediately come to mind are the ZDP-189 Calypso Jr. and the Dodo. I still just can't believe how much great use I got from them for no more money than I invested in them.
Now keep in mind I got both of them when they first came out and I didn't pay the inflated prices they started fetching after they gained collector appeal. But those 2 still get a great deal of use around this house.

Where else can you get a nice premium steel like VG-10, full steel liners and all screw construction all for about $45?
That's just insane good value. :)

I'm surprised no one's said this (well, actually I'm not because the Native doesn't get much love around here...haha), because to me it's not even close: Walmart Native.
That specific Native is the knife I'd recommend to somebody who isn't a knife person and just wants to get a "pocketknife" - the "one knife to get if you're only getting one".
The Native was already a deal for the normal ~$50 price for all the well-known, oft-discussed reasons - S30V, Golden-made, ergonomics/design for all-around use, etc. - and when you then throw a $40 price tag on top of that, that clinches it.
Granted, I like SE better than PE, but...
