Hey anyone/ everyone, what's your favorite knife & why? It doesn't need to be Spyderco, I'm just wondering about the majority of preferences out there....

Besides being Turkey day in the States, it happens to be ii fufu in Japan today (that's good couples day for those of you who failed remedial Japanese...like myself). Anyway, as it seems we are seldom without our Spyders, it seems to fit.
Favorite knife? I don't really have. I don't play favorites with my Spyders or my children lest one should become angry and spiteful.

Pick One Favourite! What is this?...Are we testing a new kind of Torture!!
;~))
WORK KNIFE - Benchmade Pinacle - very tough, super safe mono-lock, light-weight bullet proof titanium handles, cutter, diggger, prybar, chisel (all in one blade) and it holds an edge well.
BELT TOOL - Victorinox Swiss Tool - superior quality, no-pinch plier handles, all blades lock, scary saw blade, blades can be opened without unfolding the handles, and...when you open a blade...it is the ONLY one that comes out.
DAILY PUBLIC CARRY - Spyderco Calypso Junior - light weight, good size for use in public places (doesn't raise eyebrows or attract Canadian Police when you pull it out), comfortable handle, VERY SHARP, holds edge.
NECK KNIFE - Emerson LaGriffe - quality and cool beyond words. May save my life the next time I fall from my treestand while hunting.
FAVOURITE CONVERSATION PIECE - Spyderwrench. No need to explain that eh!
"NEW WORLD ORDER" AIRPORT KNIFE - plastic, Airline-Issue "picknick style" table knife - because I can no longer carry a tiny Swiss Army key chain knife when I fly!!!!
CHEERS! Jay

My fav would definately be my G10 Civilian or Matriarch for the reason that I have to work in crappy areas where alotta scum hangs out at times, the blade compared to my other knives just makes me feel more secure and safe.
As far as a fav for cutting is concerned, it'd have to be my Chinook, thats my baby.
Big, beutiful and tough, cuts through anything and love the upswept tip.
Thats it

Favorite knife? Hmmm, well it was the Delica, but now I think the Serrated Native FRN is my fav.
Still love the Delica and Endura but there's just something about the handling of a Native that just seems "right."

I think it has to be my pe military. I love the steel CPM 440v it cuts amazingly well. I like th g10 and i trust that lock. It is also large enough to simply scare a lot of attackers away and i like to spydie drop it for effect when necessary.

For me it's our BM mini-AFCK w/plain edge in ATS-34. There is nothing this knife want handle, and with it's chamfered Spydie hole, the action has to be felt, to be believed!! RKBA!

Allan2112-if you like the AFCK, check out the brand new one. We just got it today. It uses the Axis lock, and the blade is D2. Pretty wild!
My favorite carry knife right now is my partial serrated Starmate, although I think I would have liked a plain edge instead. My other favorites belong to the shop, but I see them everyday...until they get sold. The first fave is the polished titanium handled, fileworked Pat Crawford Point Guard. The other two we just got a couple days ago: a Lile Big 8 and a Lile Misfit, both with D2 blades and Sambar stag handles. The interesting thing about the Big 8 is that the brass rivets in the handle are shaped to match the crennelations of the stag scales. Has to be seen to be believed.
Its all fun and games til somebody loses an eye, then its fun annd games you can't see.

I hate it when this thread pops up, it makes me think too hard <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle>
It would be the Military, except it's size means I can't carry it as often as I would like.
Same for the Howard Viele. A VERY nice knife, but just a bit too long for the sheeple infested office I now find myself in.
The Civilian is one of the most stylish in the Spyderco range, but it is not an EDC knife.
For a long time it was my SS Delica, and it still comes in at second place. The only problem is that the SS finish is so nice I don't want to carry anything else in the same pocket.
Which leaves .... the Standard.
It has the Delica shape I love so much, a better steel, G-10 scales, small enough to be almost aceptable in the office, but big enough to handle anything that comes it's way.

I would choose my Chinese Lum with my caron fiber Cricket as back up.

That would be the Harpy & Merlin. Both not serrated. I love the sharp tip and the shape.
