Fact - it is not warrantied by Spyderco, it is warrantied by Camillus.

Fact - it was never sold by Spyderco to Spyderco distributors or dealers.

Fact - many Spyderco collectors do not consider it worthy of a place in their collections.

Fact - it has Spyderco's name all over it.

Opinion - in mine, it's a Spyderco, more so than one knife many Spyderco collectors go ga-ga over.

Fact - my opinion is just that, the opinion of one person.

Yes Felly, it would most definitely be the Ramco Laguiole.

Should be interesting to see how the collectors view this knife now that Camillus is gone.

Much as I like the lines of the R/L, I have to agree that it isn't as much Spyderco as the BRK Native is. Unless of course Spyderco covered the R/L under their waranty.

I'm reasonably sure Spyderco covered warranty service for both the Ramco Laguiole and the various Solo branded knives it had manufactured for it. However, that's an entirely different debate for which folks use entirely different logic. I only mentioned it as a comparison to the general attitute toward the BRK Native. My real point though was that I find the idea of people denying the heritage of something that has a company's name all over it, and which the company acknowledges is not a knock-off but rather was assembled from parts originally manufactured for it and which it supplied to the company that marketed it, to be almost amusingly absurd.

There is more to a knife than the whole of the hole in the blade or the name stamped on the tang.

I don't disagree with any of the Deacon's facts.

The quality is just not there. The knife's soul is scratchy and shoddy.

If anyone has a well functioning, high fit and finished, low to none blade play BRK, well congrats. I have cheap china ripoffs that were better put together than the BRK.

Interesting information.

I had no idea and I believe I have one of these bad boys somewhere around here.

Hmmm this talk about the R/L revives a thought I have had about a thread concerning the Holy grail of collectables....see new thread....
