Does anybody know who made these? Any idea where I can find some info on them?

Thanks, Mike

Do such things even exist? The concept of a Gunting (dedicated SD knife) and a rescue version don't seem to gel.

I do believe you are talking about the Gunting Trainer
The unsharpened, blunt nose version of the Gunting,(drone) for learning safe knife handling techniques.

C68GPTR: I do believe it has an orange or red handle...but I don't know anything about a rescue version style gunting....Doc :D

There is a red trainer version. Where did you see/hear/learn about an orange rescue one?

Here is a Rescue and there is a Gunting trainer.

We would rather be the knife in your pocket, because is "works" better, than the knife in your showcase, because it "looks" better.

Indeed, it all makes sense now! Thanks Rycen!

I was staring more at the horn on it, feels like a good way to snag and lose your knife. Not to mention moving your hand further up along the handle would be severely restricted. That said, the blunt nose looks ok.

Spyderco never made a "rescue" Gunting prototype. Might have been something Bram had made.

Bram did keep several protoyptes that we made on variations of the Gunting.

We have given Bram all rights to his Gunting. He cannot use our name or marks.
