combat recurve

#1

Post by speyederlover »

This is my version of a "Combat Recurve" design. It is my second recurve I've done. Blade is 154CM 3 1/2" long with thumb grooves and false edge. Handle is black linen micarta 4 1/2" long with corby screws. I really like this knife. It has good balance and feels good in my hand. It is my most complr=ex grind so far and I like it. I have a second one I'm working on now. Initially I was going to bead blast the whole thing, but the grinds turned out so good I had to polish it. Caution there are 6 pics. I wanted to show as much detail as I could.

Again, nice work, nice grind.
How thick do you leave the edge?

It's pretty close to 0.50 mm. Thanks for the kind words.

Half a mm. is just fine, makes for good cutting.
And with that hollow grind, you have a real good knife.
I don't like it much when a edge is left thick in order to be idiot proof.

That is a nice tool you have there! I like it. That thing probably cuts way bigger than its size! :D
