Folding Perrin Street Beat
Folding Perrin Street Beat
Been playing with the FB for a while and feel it is screaming out for a folding version.
Same handle with the pivot point above the finger choil and a simple lockback following the curve of the micarta helmet.

I'd be down for any Perrin folder.

A pivot point above the choil would be way to high.
If you make a few copies of a picture of the Streetbeat you can see why.
First you cut out the handle shape.
The next one you cut out the blade with a bit extra to be the tang.
Put them together with a needle or a toothpick as a pivot point and see what happens if you fold it.

Or lengthen the handle and put the pivot about where the first pin is now. But you're right, it would not be practical without modifying the Street Beat considerably.Piet.S wrote:A pivot point above the choil would be way to high.

Closest existing Spydie to the blade shape would be the Blackhawk. Perhaps an updated version of that, with a full flat grind, jimped spine, an more "flat" to the edge with a tighter radius curve to the tip would be a viable alternative.
