Anyone have any experiences with the jimi(x)? Looking at one to carry in front pocket as a replacement to a normal wallet. I don't carry much stuff to begin with. Just looking for something slim enough to carry in a front pocket to reduce chance of pick pocketing and such. Does the jimi take up so much room in the pocket as to interefere with having an EDC there as well? How durable are they? Thanks.

i've got one......they are of durable construction....but if it's in my jeans front pocket, it does get in the way of a Clipit in that same pocket esp. if the knife is Delica sized or larger/longer....the Jimi-x is sorta chunky...about 1.4 cm thick....so if its in front pocket I'm more likely to carry a smaller knife that fits in the watch/change pocket ...like a Dragonfly or Cricket.... :rolleyes:

Another alternative is to carry a slim credit-card case, and a regular wallet. Put all your important documents in the case, along with a 10-dollar bill. Put the rest of your money in the wallet, along with some old business cards from various places.

That way, if you get mugged or pick-pocketed; you don't lose your credit cards, ATM card, Driver's License, etc.

maxpedition makes a nice range of durable wallets... my dad and i are both hooked on them!

I recently got an "All-Ett" -- billed as the world's thinnest wallet. It truly is amazing -- all of the stuff I carried in my old (normal leather) wallet fit in the All-Ett with plenty of room to spare and the thinness is remarkable.

Some criticisms of the All-Ett: If you don't have a lot of cards, they carry quite loose and may fall out when opening the wallet. Also, some don't like the material -- it's crinkly and makes some noise (its made of the same stuff as sails on a boat, I think). Still, it carries almost unnoticeably in the front or rear pocket, and for $20 is a good deal.

i have a regular jimi wallet and am very pleased with it. used it for 1.5 years now, still going strong. Plenty of minor scratches but the hinges show no signs of tearing. I have the opaque black model.

i carry it in RFP with a delica4 clipped, 3 keys + car remote, and a victorinox soldier. I dont feel like it crowds the pocket.
