Well I picked up a Dragonfly Lightweight today, my first Spydie. If i had only 5 dollars more I coulda got the stainless steel one but my Dad had already pitched in 20 dollars. It was 40 dollars total. I like it but the thumb hole is going to take some getting used to. It has a SpyderEdge (i think that's what the serrated edge is called) My mom said it looked "wicked" (in a bad way) She also proceeded to say she was going to get me a display case to put them in, because she is paranoid of knives...thats fine with me tough because it would look cool and i could take them out whenever i was going somewhere (except school)

by the way the dealer wasn't open but i hapenned to find another place with a small selection..i nevr realized how big the rescue was until i saw it..is the merlin as big as the rescue? i don't think the dealer that spyderco.com has on their site is open on saturday..i'll have to get a ride there after school sometime
The Rescue and Rescue Jr. are longer than the Merlin about an inch or so.
If you have a budget, like we all do at times, you can sometimes find very good deals at eBay (that's how I got my hands on a Delica and an Endura a few weeks back). I have also found some good prices at www.knifepro.com and at www.eknifeworks.com.
I hope you enjoy that Dragonfly, that's a nice starter knife, also your Spydercard, I am considering one as a gift for my husband so he can carry it in his wallet. He is not as wild for knives as I am, but he does love utilitarian gifts once in a while.

Wow a lady that likes knives, I wish my Mom were like you, but I wouldn't trade her for nothing Thanks...I get $12.00 a week, that's my budget. This summer though I hope to get a job. Also next month I will be getting $300.00 and I can't decide whether to buy a $219.00 watch and one or two Spydies,or quite a few Spydies and a $60 dollar watch, or just all Spydies and wait for my birthday to get any watch at all.
LOL! _Never_ trade your mom for anything, I know I wouldn't trade my parents for anything in the world.
Well, if I did have that money now, I can tell you my decision would not be hard at all. I even have a spider tattoo (not the Spydie logo, but I've always had a thing for spiders, Spyderco just happened to come by my sight and I also had a thing for knives, how lucky!).
And that link for the guy at eBay (knifesales) is:

Now that I have my Dragonfly I don't know if I would have picked up the Native first or the Dragonfly...
order for next Spydies
1.Spydercard (plain edge)
2.Harpy or Merlin (serrated)
3.Cricket (Plain or serrated undecided)
4.Native II (SS and 50/50 preferably)
5.Police Necklace (serrated)
