Have you tried the seller "knifesales" at eBay? I just saw that he has some Merlins and a few other beauties at around 40 dollars or less.

Well I picked up a Dragonfly Lightweight today, my first Spydie. If i had only 5 dollars more I coulda got the stainless steel one but my Dad had already pitched in 20 dollars. It was 40 dollars total. I like it but the thumb hole is going to take some getting used to. It has a SpyderEdge (i think that's what the serrated edge is called) My mom said it looked "wicked" (in a bad way) She also proceeded to say she was going to get me a display case to put them in, because she is paranoid of knives...thats fine with me tough because it would look cool and i could take them out whenever i was going somewhere (except school)

I have no money right now and the next money I get will be to pay my cousin for my Spydercard that he ordered for me off ebay...I will be sure to check him out. Do you have a link to any of his products?

I just got my Meerkat from Knifesales and it is one cool little knife. I've always loved lockbacks and this Phantom lock is the neatest thing to come along in quite sometime. Easily in your price range as well. Jeff

The Rescue and Rescue Jr. are longer than the Merlin about an inch or so.

If you have a budget, like we all do at times, you can sometimes find very good deals at eBay (that's how I got my hands on a Delica and an Endura a few weeks back). I have also found some good prices at www.knifepro.com and at www.eknifeworks.com.

I hope you enjoy that Dragonfly, that's a nice starter knife, also your Spydercard, I am considering one as a gift for my husband so he can carry it in his wallet. He is not as wild for knives as I am, but he does love utilitarian gifts once in a while.

Wow a lady that likes knives, I wish my Mom were like you, but I wouldn't trade her for nothing Thanks...I get $12.00 a week, that's my budget. This summer though I hope to get a job. Also next month I will be getting $300.00 and I can't decide whether to buy a $219.00 watch and one or two Spydies,or quite a few Spydies and a $60 dollar watch, or just all Spydies and wait for my birthday to get any watch at all.

LOL! _Never_ trade your mom for anything, I know I wouldn't trade my parents for anything in the world.

Well, if I did have that money now, I can tell you my decision would not be hard at all. I even have a spider tattoo (not the Spydie logo, but I've always had a thing for spiders, Spyderco just happened to come by my sight and I also had a thing for knives, how lucky!).

And that link for the guy at eBay (knifesales) is:

After Spydercard I will probably get Harpy and Native both Stainless Steel, and get them engraved with my name.

kraziekurtis,

I recall feeling that the Dragonfly was too small and fiddly to open when I got mine a few years back - I got over that very quickly and now have a stainless plain edge as well as my original FRN Spyderedge - a great knife.

Yes the handle was small for me at first and took about 20 minutes of getting used to it. The thing I have to get used to now is the Spyder Hole, I'm close to getting the hang of it

I saw a brand new Native today at a G&K show, for $36.00. That's what I payed for our G-2 model, a couple of years ago. Why didn't I have more money!!! RKBA!

Now that I have my Dragonfly I don't know if I would have picked up the Native first or the Dragonfly...

order for next Spydies
1.Spydercard (plain edge)
2.Harpy or Merlin (serrated)
3.Cricket (Plain or serrated undecided)
4.Native II (SS and 50/50 preferably)
5.Police Necklace (serrated)
