Mine sits on my desk.

I use it for admiring...and cutting office stuff - papers, envelopes etc.

Mine is a Plain Edge.

Gifts to other folks, cutting foil packets, opening packages, well, mostly utility stuff...

LOL @ mrb...

For admiring, now _that's_ a common use for all my knives.

I just carry mine in my wallet, don't notice the weight anymore, for backup. I haven't needed it yet.

My Combo edge is used as a general purpose knife around the office - when you get yours, you'll need to lubricate the pivot point, then spend many happy hours practicing opening and closing it one handed and listen to the satisfying 'snap' it makes :o)

the other main use of mine (sitting on my desk) is advertising for Spyderco - everyone who see's wants to know what it is and then proceed to play with it!

mrb, oh, yes, good use. My Spydie necklace does that job quite well. People just stare in disbelief and ask: "Is that a knife around your neck." For which I proceed to tell them it's a Spyderco *insert silly commercial grin in here*.

Spydie users are good marketers as well.
