Back and Feeling Better!

Greetings
One or two of my "forum friends" have been in touch asking me why I haven't been visiting this site very regularly recently. :o
To be honest the past year hasn't been a good one for me. My health has been worrying me but following extensive tests and some surgery, I am feeling much better and a lot more positive about my future.
The loss of a very close family member who was very important to me convinced me that life is for living! My uncle was only 63 when he died of a massive heart attack whilst having a pint and playing cards with his mates. He had suffered from poor health most of his life but never complained. He was an outgoing friendly man loved by those who knew him.
After the initial shock of him dying, I decided to take something positive from the situation. I have not been using my time as well as I could. Our time here is not unlimited so I am going to make the best use of it that I can. To that end I am getting out and about far more than I have been, I’ve re-started some MA weapons training, started knife throwing again and I am contacting good friends that I have been neglecting recently!
I just wanted to explain my absence. :o :)
Regards, Ken

-- Congratulations! This is the right and positive attitude towards life. Enjoy life while ye may, said shakespeare :D

Ken, glad you are feeling better and back on your feet. Very few people get to realize how short and precious life can be. You have been blessed with that...use it to your advantage.
Take Care of yourself and I hope the knife is treating you well.

Glad you're feeling better. You're making the right decisions it sounds like now. I think we all (at least me) need to get out more.
Keep on keepin' on.

Glad that you're better Ken.....yes Carpe Diem is my motto in life...at least sometimes (when my mood is cooperative)...

Justifies my buying more knives! Just thinking about knife throwing (I have a few handed down from my Dad) makes me feel young again...

I haven't thrown a knife since 1986!

......I am usually a positive type of bloke but I have to admit things were getting to me. Long-term illness is no fun as some here already know. It is very easy to become depressed and isolate yourself from people who care and can help.
Friends and family have helped me through a dark period! :D
Ken
Welcome Back...

It is good to see you back and posting on the forums; I too had wondered what had happened to you.
I am glad your health and outlook are improving!
