Delica vs. Native

I just lost my Delica (pulled it off my pocket with a golf bag) and I want to get a new knife. I liked the size of the delica, and I was thinking of getting either another delica, or a native. I was wondering what the difference between the CPM-440V steel used in the native and the ATS-55 steel used in the delica is. Also, I might like to get one of the old delicas with the polymer clip, and I know that those had a third type of steel...Can anyone explain the difference between these would be?

No, no, I wont hear a bad word said about the Delica, the SS version is a gem of a knife.

But I would agree that the SS version could do with a better steel. VG-10 or 440V would be fine by me <img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle>

I purchased a lightweight Native about 2 months ago and it's now my favorite knife. The handle is designed well because it's more ergonomic and slip resistant than most other Spyderco knives. It is versatile and durable for a lightweight and easy to carry knife. It seems well balanced and operates with one hand very well. The CPM 440V blade is well designed and durable. There might be some very minor improvements that come into the realm of customization that I would like to see, but I would not hesitate to recommend the Spyderco Native! It is one of their best knives and is an excellent value.

I just received my Native with Blue Inlay. In a matter of minutes it just became my #1 dress-up knife. Great motion, nice balance and super blade.

Edited to move question about inlay to its own thread.

Buy the one that appeals to you the most, and then get the other later. I couldn't get along with out either one of them! RKBA!
