I have spent a considerable time deciding upon my first Spyderco purchase. I am READY to spend my money. I had fully intended to buy from a brick and mortar store. I believe in supporting local retail. However, all of the stores within 60 miles wanted full MSRP or ABOVE MSRP.

Can anyone help with suggesting an online retailer? I have browsed a few (Top of Texas, 1st Stop, Cumberland, KnifeOutlet) but do not have any first or second hand experience.

The absolute cheapest price is not as important as trust and dependability. I would like to find a dealer where I could phone and ask questions. West Coast or Midwest would be a plus.

I would like to establish a good relationship with a dealer because somehow I already have my 2nd and 3rd Spyderco purchases planned out (how did this happen - I just wanted one?).

try knifecenter.com. I've used them before. So far, so good.

I would try Cutlery Shoppe. They don't have a huge selection of Spyderco, but the prices are good. They also seem to know their stuff. The couple times I've called them, anyways. They also have good shipping rates. They are located in Boise,Idaho.

I have used Cuttlery Shoppe - found their service knowledgeable and friendly, the delivery was prompt and he prices were OK,. I think the owner's name was Jeff - they did a nice printed catalogue and seemed to be quite professional, secure, reputable.

I visit smokey mnt knife works alot.they have a good selection and sometimes extremly low prices on discn. knives 35.99 on my ss rookie ll 24.00 on my jess horn.They are in severville tn call and ask for a catalog.It is a good idea to call the retail store to ask about some items everthing is not in the catalog.

I would definitely suggest newgraham.com. I've bought a couple of spydercos from him and have one preorder put in. He has great prices and excellent service.

I've used knifeoutlet before and have had great sucess. I wouldn't recommend discount knives, I've had nothing but trouble with these guys. I've also used osogrande, excellent customer service, even got a free Spyderco hat once. The best beyond compare has been the Spyderco online store, expect to pay MSRP, but the attention to detail and the customer service is outstanding.

Although World Wide Knives is on the east coast, I have found their service to be very reliable. They also respond promptly to questions about products.

I just bought a Buck limited first-run knife from Dantes Knifeworks and found them to be great.
