We need to start an H-1 Cult ;)

I know I'm not the only one here who *loves* H-1 steel, I think we should start a "Cult** Of H-1" just like we have the Hawkbill Cult**, basically try to promote the benefits of H-1 steel, much like the Brotherhood of the Hawkbill promotes the benefits of Hawkbills....

I'm pretty sure we can count on Hannibal, JD Spydo and Spydutch to be in on this, but anyone's welcome to join, don't worry, it's the *good* kind of cult, all you need to do to join is give an H-1 knife a try....

"Join Us........Join Us......Join Us"
Resistance is Futile ;)

Oops...It's MacTech again :) . Salt I was my first Spydie and hope my Yellow PE Tasman will be here tomorrow :D .

The reason why I like H-1 is it's carefree feature. Light weight and the ability to perform most of my cutting. My Salt I is my main EDC. It cuts food, letters, boxes and serves as a "pointer" in the anatomy lab  . Sounds disgusting, right? Don't worry... It won't rust. So I just wash it thoroughly after touching cadavers.

Pretty sure my incoming Yellow Tasman will become my EDC... Hope it won't make me look girly :o .

H-1 >>> A perspective of a specialty metal

Did I hear someone calling me :D Hey dude this is the CHOIR you are preaching to  And I was one that was really skeptical about H-1 when it first came out. Now it is not my favorite blade steel but I do have a special place for it as a user and as nice addition/selection for the overall Spyderco line up. I carry a yellow handled TaSMAN each day. I use it at least once every day. I actually find it's edge holding ability a pleasant surprise. It's not as good as ZDP-189 >> but darn few blade steels even come close to that one.

Yes I'm a member of the HaWKbiLL CuLt. And I will take a membership in this one too. I think a new and re-designed fillet knife would be great to use H-1 with. But do keep in mind that this is a specialty steel. But that's what I like about the great Spyder factory. They know how to fill voids and they know what to do with specialized materials like H-1

Spyderco should come up with a small H-1 knife - Cricket sized.

That's all I have to say about that.

Count me in ...

You can't beat a fully serrated H1 blade :)

If it only didn't scratch so easily..... :(

Count me in!! I have the Salt 1 and the Pacific Salt. It is great to have a knife that I CAN take to the beach and wear in the water and not have to worry about it.

Spyderco Sub-cult license.

If you are really serious about this deal you need to contact Peter Jhones and get the paper work signed and be sure and pay your $50, to get your cult on the list of approved cults. You get a free picture of the hole as a bonus, if you act now...LOL...Ed

You know, I wasn't going to join, but after I read what Zen said, it all just made sense! :p Seriously, count me in. My Tasman is currently the workhorse of the fleet (it's got the scars to prove it), and I'm looking at getting a second Salt for Christmas to leave in my car. Problem is, I can't decide which one.

the "Commandments" of the Cult Of H-1 (feel free to add to them)

1; The Cult Of H-1 welcomes *ALL* knife users, the Gospel Of H-1 should be available to all who are willing to hear

2; Thou shalt carry and use *at least* ONE H-1 knife in thy EDC array

3; Thou shalt keep thy H-1 blade as sharp as thou canst, Sharpness is attained by the Holy Acts of Sharpening and Stropping

4; Thou shalt not worry about the Demon known as "Bladus Oxidasis", Thy H-1 shalt repel the Demon

5; Thou *Shalt* flaunt Oxidasis ny using thy knife in highly corrosive environments

6; Thou shalt not "baby" your H-1 knife, thy knife is designed to be *used* and used hard

7; Thou shalt not worry about scratches and cosmetic flaws on the blade, they giveth thy blade character and show that it is a hardworking tool

8; All H-1 knives are equal in the eyes of the Cult, it matters not if thy blade be SpyderEdged or PlainEdge, or if thy scales be black or yellow, they are *all* equal in the eyes of the Cult

I'm in, I love the stuff. I have only the Salt 1, wish they made more of the smallish sizes as in Kopa, Calypso Jr, Dragonfly. (flatgrind)
