the centofante or lum, probally the lum if you're a collector as that thing seems to have no limit in value. wish i would have bought the one that was available at a obscure online store when i saw it but i didn't trust the seller, someone else bought it though.

Okay, I want to know where that is! :D I would suggest one of the discontinued models. The Police and UKPK will still be available later, the Delica 3 is common enough to be found easily. Personally, I would go with the Centofante C50 if it is PE, but most will probably say the Lum Tanto, which I won't argue with, I just don't care that much for tanto style blades any more. And if that is a PE G10 Standard on the left, you can send it on to me, I'm good for it! :D

i'm right there with ya, i'd go for the cento as well not because of dislike for tantos but for dislike of black coated blades.

Centofante or the Lum. Can you buy one, and put some money on the other one to hold it?? Just an idea.
Are you going to carry the knife, or will it be a safe queen??

im quite sure that the last one on the left is a cf delica. im just buying one for collection...not gonna use it. what is a safe queen?
looks like most people vote for the lum or centofante...are they collection pieces or for use pieces?

they're Spyderco so they're good users of course. those two in particular are harder to find and in demand (the Lum more so than the Cento). this also makes them highly collectable.

A "safe queen" is a term for perfectly good knives bought to be put in a collection and not used

.
Cheers,

I'm gonna be the broken record and say "Go for the Lum or the Centofante", because they are both excellent knives for any purpose (safe queening or using the heck out of). However, Spyderco's CF handled models always do well, so it really comes down to which one you think looks best on display. You should get good returns on any of those three knives if you choose to sell them in the future.

LUM! Without question it's only going to go up in value.

The Lum tanto, I think you will really like it , and they are getting hard to find. I'd like to get one myself. But, then again, I want all the spydercos and byrds.

if its in a white box, get it :D
I do not find a tanto blade useful for anything nowadays (unless you want to stab someone through body armor) and they look tricky to sharpen. If you want to collect however, its the knife you should get.

good point! :)
there's a white box at the top of the picture with what seems to be a military, if it's one of the diamond engraved I'd take this one or the Lum...

Uh, put them ALL on layaway!!
But, even though I am a Cento freak, you gotta bag the Lum G-10 at a bare minimum. Ask if they have a Lil' Temp! :D

Chucula, there is a trick to sharpening them, but it's not that hard. Tantos are great for snap cuts. :spyder:

Is the handle of the Lum Chinese blue or green? I ask because, even though the green handled ones are a great collecter's piece, they are nothing compared to the blues. Also, if you're looking for a user, the Lil' Temp TP should fit the bill nicely. Unfortunately, the Trailing Points are becoming quite rare these days as well...
