let me proudly present to you

The MMC

Image

Combine 2 of the most popular Philipino Martial Arts based knives.
Many people say that the Gunting is too bulky for pocket carry...
fixed!

The MMC even has a screw hole opening at the tip of the hooking-ramp for
those interested in putting on a jagged or sharp washer at the end.
-Can do everything that the compact Karambit can do plus more.
-Because of the pocket clip position, wave opening is a breeze as well.
-Notice the good ol classic lock back! No liner lock, no way!

hope you like it. :)

Interesting.

The ergonomics looks funny though. It looks like that if I were to pick up the knife in a forward grip, my fingers would be toast!

The blade shape and posistion I'm a little iffy on, but the handle looks great.

And I'm glad you went with a lockback.

I think you misunderstood the picture, the knife you see is closed

what you see there is the hook-ramp, not the blade.
In the closed position with the hook-ramp and all, the length should be
about the same as the Delica when closed. :)

Can we see it in the open position?
It's better to be judged by 12 than to be carried by 6

Sorry I haven't drawn the open position yet, basically the blade
will open like the Karambit at an acute angle. The Hook-ramp will not
catch your skin unless you try hard to get it caught. :D

young at the time! ;)

I'd really like to make a proto type, reminds me a lot of the
Ka-Bar TDI Law Enforcement Knife 1480, also "the Whale" design
someone posted here. Do any of you guys like it? :(

Thanks for explaining to me that it was closed. :D

I like the design man, but let me play devil's advocate one more time :p . The blade geometry doesn't know what it is, if that makes sense. It's not upswept enough or long enough to make a real good "slasher," and it's upswept enough that it would make it somewhat awkward to straight-on stab. From my judgment, it also looks the rear of the knife would prevent the knife from pentrating well, the fingers and "loop" would get in the way.

I see a lot of good things though. For one, the loop looks like it would make an excellent impact tool. The top of the opened blade also looks like it would be great for trapping.

So far it's got good impact abilities, good trapping abilities, now all we need is a more efficient blade geometry.

thank you for your reply. :D I think my drawing makes the blade look
ineffective, or maybe you prefer a different blade design. ]http://us.st11.yimg.com/us.st.yimg.com/ ... 93_4993081[/IMG]

that MMC is a wild looking folder dete! Very creative.

I dont know about this design's plausibility, but keep on designing! If you are persistant, you will make incredible designs.
