rare old spyderco info needed

#1

Post by tiny6565 »

Can anyone tell me what I have? It is all stainless and the patent Number is,4347665. The blade is serated and is like the rescue sheepfoot point. It has a notch in the top of the blade maybe to cut string or something, it also has a 9cm / 3 1/4" scale on one side, it also has a slot above that. I hate to say it but it looks like somebody took a dremel or something and sharpened the serations. They did not screw it up to bad.
It will be listed on eBay before to long. Maybe next week or so if I get to it.

Welcome Tiny to the forum. Please be aware that :spyder: has a strict policy that no selling or trading is allowed in the forum.
This is purely from a warranty vieuwpoint.
If you put it on Ebay, we will find out anyway (because we check Ebay almost everyday) :D

If it looks like the sample picture it's a 2001 - Pre Diver model.

Tiny,

Welcome. I am no expert, especially compared to most of the others here, but it sounds as if you are describing a 2001 Pre-Diver Folder see these two links for pix:

Enjoy.

Yes that looks like it but it seems to me that I have had it longer than 6 years, maybe not tho. Thanks at least I know what I can list it under.

Tiny,

2001 is Spyderco's model number. If I remember correctly, the knife was originally made in the late 1980's
