new guy with some pics!

Post by TeamAlan »

Hey everyone, just making my first post as a new increasingly enthusiastic spyderholic :D

Heres the knife that started it all - ladybug2 sheepsfoot: bought it as my emergency blade to keep on my harness at all times when rock climbing

Image

next came my favorite knife bought off of a member of knifeforums - Calypso Jr Grey FRN

Image

Then I got the ebay bug and picked up some used spydies for cheap to use as beaters

Image
Image

and a shot of them all:

Image

and unfortunately i discovered the delica has a crack at the spyderhole  I dont know what i want to do about this, it still works just fine.

Image

And yes, I like in the hand shots  Hope you enjoyed the pictures.

Welcome new guy with pictures! What an entrance. I wouldn't worry about the crack as you said you bought it used and plan to use as a beater...

If you want a project, do a little modification on that cracked delica. if you have a dremel, do this- (see dragonfly below):

The crack is in just about the right place to create a quick opening "wave" device!

Welcome. The people on this forum are very friendly and knowledgable. Don't be afraid to ask questions and post pictures.

The crack in the Delica is an invitation to modification. Be sure to take a picture of any work you do to it.

I had the same idea about a Ladybug 2 as a climbing safety knife. I hope you don't have to use it.

May I ask where you got it from, as I haven't found one yet!

Thanks for the welcome everyone, I'm glad you enjoyed the pictures.

pete: I was thinking about the "wave modification" to the Delica as well, and it seems i will likely go down that road. How well does the wave work as a bottle opener? I've heard it works, but just how well does it work?

Ging: i bought it off ebay right at the time it was being discontinued for around $15, they still pop up every now and then usually for around $20-25. One concern i had with the knife though that is that once when i took a big lead fall the blade opened. It only happened that one time and i have since taken more falls with no problems, but it is worth noting it happened once.

Im glad to join a forum with such a good vibe to it.
