I've seen two different designations for the black Cara Cara and Meadowlark on several sites. In one cases, the same site offers both designations. Using the partial serrated black Cara Cara as an example, the two designations are:
BY03BKPSCP
By03BKPS.
When I received my first partial-serrated black Cara Cara, it had the designation BY03BKPSCP and was a powder-coated knife.
I'm wondering if this new designation, BY03BKPS, represents a black oxide finish rather than the powder coat? Sal or Kristi - please adise.
Thanks - Joe

I'd be inclined to bet that the CP on the end indicates Clam Pack, as it does with several Spyderco models. Some dealers prefer that packaging to reduce the risk of pilferage when using a self-service display. Assuming that's the case, then the BY03BKPS version is packed in a conventional cardboard box.

Do you know where will Starling produced? From the SHOT show report by Doug Ritter, he mentioned that this Starling will produce by Spyderco itself but will put it in Byrd line.
So I am not sure where it will be produced.
