Dialex's Komondor...

#1

Post by smcfalls13 »

Hey Dialex, remember when I said last night I'd post some eye candy that you should recognize? ;) Tell me, does this look familiar? :p

Image

Image

When Chris H. posted a thread late last year with pics of the Komondor and Adventura(see here for original thread, http://spyderco.com/forums/showthread.p ... t=komondor )

I immediately took a liking to it, and I wasn't even aware that any of Dialex's blades were being made, other than the Adventura. I expressed an interest in having one, so CEYA contacted me about getting one made, so I went ahead and ordered one.

It was finished early this week, and in the next day or so, should be on it's way to me(that'll be the longest wait EVER) but these pics were forwarded to me by CEYA, and I was told it was ok to go ahead and post them for everybody's benefit ;)

Expect a review on this gorgeous blade as soon as I get it in hand.

I believe thanks are in order. Thank you to Dialex for designing such a superb blade. Thank you to CEYA for handling all the details in getting this blade brought to life(again). And finally, thank you to David Mosier for taking the time to make it. You guys all rock.

Hi Scott, now this is a surprize! Thanks for the great pics. I hope you'll like the knife. I'm anxious to hear your comments.
I was thinking to make a couple refinements from the original design (thinner scales, with the original G-10 texturing and a finger choil less pronounced; also a longer blade - 1 or 2" more). Your feedback will be very useful too.

I'll let you know my thoughts once I get a chance to handle it a little.

Hopefully more to come. Chris H's thread inspired me to get one, so if we're lucky, someone will want one after seeing this thread. A review is still forthcoming.

DW I going to have to recommend you desist from reading these forums without a note from your doctor, this is the third "Thud" I've seen from you and you obviously have a problem passing out. :p

Komondor arrived a few days ago, but today is the first chance I've had to get any decent pictures, by the time I get home from work most days, the sun is long departed.

Some in hand pics:

Some size comparison pics(with FB Temperance and Adventura):

And one more, out of respect for the garden animals:

Later tonight I'll post the specs and possibly a review of this fine fixed blade.

Can you say how much one of those would run? As a former Komondor owner (love the breed and miss mine very much) and a fan of recurve blades, that looks like a must have! Is it possible to get them?

Beautiful knife! I happen to like the scales as they are, it really shows the depth and texturing of the G10, and it looks like it would feel solid in hand. Congrats on a great design dialex! And on your new blade smcfalls13!
