What knife sees pocket time aside from your Spyderco flock. Yes, I carry my Stretch, Enduras, Military, Jester, etc ... but this Benchmade Goldstar sees it's share of pocket time too. I cleaned it up for its debut .. :D And yep, it is very very sharp. :D

That would be my Strider PT. I just love that tough little knife. Extreme solid lock-up. Perfect size. I sanded the bead-blasted blade to a somewhat satin finish, and had my father-in-law dril a lanyard hole in the scales.

This is the only non- :spyder: I currently carry (not counting leatherman's). Raises quite a few eyebrows.

First they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not stand up, because I was not a Trade Unionist.

My favorite non-Spyderco are knives made by John Greco, like my MST Mark II - 7. Made from 1/4" A2 tool steel with a 7" blade and black Micarta handles. John designs and makes some great knives - although, unfortunately, no longer in this style :(

Thanks naggalowmo! That's a great shot of your 806 - a terrific knife. Here's a shot of mine, and some of my other favorite non :spyder: s.

DMKnives Large Triant. It's gorgeous, perfectly balanced, cuts amazingly, and did I mention it's gorgeous.

Picture is not mine though, as anyone could figure out ;) It's taken from David's site.

I feel guilty about this thread, but here it goes...
After seeing the Spyderco /Kershaw collaboration at this past years Blade Show, I took a look at a few of Kershaws upcoming models and was really impressed. A couple of months back at a knife show and there were no new Spyderco knives to purchase, I took a look at the Spec Bump. The curve of the Blade was beautiful. The edge was ever so sharp. The G-10 scales so nice to touch. I thought this will hold me for now.

Little did I know what was happening...

This Spec Bump thing has actually replaced the Para-Military as my EDC and it's all Sal's fault.

Please forgive me.

With all of this said and done, if I truly needed a superior knife for heavy duty it would be a Manix or a Miltary.

What?!? You mean there are other knife companies out there!!

For me it's a close call between a Strider SLCC and a Bob Dozier. I also really like Bill Siegle's work. No pics, sorry!
