I am sure some one had started this thread before, but I have to ask this question. What was the first :spyder: that you owne and do you still have it today?

For me it was the Ladybug II FRN with the shepfoot blade :o :D then I moved up to the delica, pro grip, and the harpy. :D

Yes...

Dear Friends,

Spyderco Stainless Harpy SE in VG-10. It was my first and is still the thrust of the collection.

When I still thought I would just own one or maybe two I bought a Endura CE.
I still have it and carry it occasionally in the knife unfriendly innercities around here as I won't miss it as much as some of my other knives if it gets confiscated.

Well, the first one I bought was a Peter Hebst. Quickly realized it was not for me. Very well made knife, but liner locks are not the best choice for leftys. But was really impressed by the ease of opening the round hole provided, so decided to try again. My second purchase was a Native, much better, so much so that it still has a place in my EDC carry battery. Next "memorable" one after that was a stainless Kiwi, the start of my ever growing flock. :o :D

My first Spyder was a Salt I/PE which is hanging in the kitchen permanently.

My second was the Serrated Native III. Since then I almost never bought a PE knife again ;) :D

Let's see....It was a Pre-98 SE Delica that saw several years of carry...I'll always have a fondness for the Delica...

PE Police, and I've EDCed it since the day I bought it.

My first two Spyders I got on the same day: a Salt 1 PE and an Atlantic Salt PE. I bought the Salt's because of the low maintenence and the ease of sharpening I had heard about H1. Did not like the feel of the Salt 1, but the Atlantic grew on me, EDC'ed for a while. The one that got me hooked for sure was the Caly Jr. Never been the same since!

Delica II, PE. Still my only Spyder, because pc-troubles and the accompanying financial dip prohibited me from buying the Centofante III and Atlantic Salt SE that I want so badly.
Maybe after New Year, who knows.

Stainless steel Delica followed by a stainless Endura.

But my favorites are the super ugly Rescue models with those great serrated edges that cut from here to eternity!

I guess, for me, it wasn't the SAKS that I owned previously from Scouting :) They probably fell into the "tools" category. That goes back 15-20 years ago. The one that actually really started it for me was a Left handed CRKT/Jim Hammond Mirage - it was probably my very first "quality" folder and it got me really interested in knives in general. From there (probably 5 to six years ago), it just sort of took off. I started to investigate steels, learned to make knife kits, my own stuff, started leatherwork, and still picked up the odd folder here and there. About two or three years ago, I just got too busy to make knives, so I started to collect, and the rest is history, so to speak :) My first Spydie was an FRN/PE Delica and I discovered it probably just over a year ago. I hit one of those "voids" where I actually couldn't find something I wanted to buy, so I started looking at super steels - of course, Spyderco popped up, and so here I am 12 or more Spydies later :D

Yes, I stil l have my first CRKT Mirage and my Delica is still in my pocket. My Delica does get packed when I fly as well :D

I started with a SE Endura, with the integrated FRN clip. It was black.
I lost this Endura, partly because it was black, and so got another.
I wore this SE Endura down to a PE butterknife :p (no sharpmaker, then).

My 1st spydie was a PE Delica with G-2 steel. When I handled it for the first time I was so impressed with the opening hole and the pocket clip. That was when I was bit by the :spyder: bug.

Back in the day it saw a lot of use but today it mainly just remains in storage. It is interesting to see how the Delica evolved since that particular model.

The one that started my addiction was a PE Chinook II. Such a well built knife, and I love the blade design! Next was a CE Endura, great for the $$$ but I wasn't huge on the FRN. It's perfect for my Caly jr. but everything else I own from :spyder: is either in CF or G-10.

MY first Spyderco was a CE Delica in ATS-55. It is still in my EDC rotation, but it is at the bottom of the bunch. :)

SE SS POLICE:

SS handle, SE edge, Spyderhole, triangular shaped blade... everything Spyderco was about at the beginning

The Harpy is what sucked me in, the Native III held me down, and the Gunting sealed the deal.
