If you carry your clip-it in your pocket and the clip is visible, is your knife considered concealed or not? Just wondering. I know laws vary from state to state city to city just wondered if the knife is considered concealed if you can still see the clip.

I have noooo clue plus such laws dont matter down here in SA, you can carry a broadsword if u want,lol
I would guess that clipping it in the pocket would be called consealed carry, just a guess but sure they wont let pll "get through" that law in that way.

if a cop hassles me, i'll claim its a tool, not a weapon. they don't bust people if they carry a swiss army knife in their pocket, do they?

what about pens? i could cause grave physical damage to someone with just a pen. arrest me for concealing that. <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle>

What if it was a Civie in my pocket? Do you think I could get away with calling that a tool? (Tool of destruction maybe) heheheh

Remember hearing about a case (was it california?) about a judge asking the officer how he knew the defendant was carrying a concealed weapon, a folding knife with a pocket clip in this instance. The officer replied that he could see it, he could see the pocket clip. Judge said if you could see it, then it's not concealed, case dismissed. Wouldn't it be nice if common sense like that always prevailed?

In answer to your questions, I don't know. Best check with a lawyer who is familiar and sympathetic with the carrying of weapons for self defense.

Generally, it is the carrying of weapons that is the no-no.

The LEO's usually ask if one is carrying any weapons. The answer is, "No." Then if a pat-down occurs and the knife/knives are discovered, then the explanation as to tool status. Most people get sucked in by answering, "Yes" to the question.

Since I carry more than one, have been thinking that I shall say that my hobby is paper cutting, and that I do it in several different ways, necessitating several knives. Not too worried tho. Gray-haired "gimps" walking with a cane aren't usually perceived as "dangerous."
