Maybe its only me. And the clips screws are not production.

But doesn't the new Delica look a little "screw happy" on the clip side...because of the closest & the number of screws. Looks real busy on that side.

The other side looks great to me... :)

w  w... is it true... Will it really be a screw on and not riveted?? :D

I love the salt-like Blade shape, the clip is awesome ... I don't like the swiss cheese look, but it is a tool, not an object of art...

I don't feel for SS handle, but glade to see it will be VG-10...

The pattern on the FRN scale is a great "evolution" from the former one...

Now, how about the colors... :p

Yes, it's true! The lightweight models will have screws!

Just a reminder so you don't have to go back to Sal's comments... here are the changes...

Nested, Skeletonized Steel Liners
Stronger, Thicker tip
Larger Thumbhole & Enhanced Ergonomics
Thumb Serrations on top of Blade and Handle
New 4-Way Clip (R/L Reversible & Tip-up/Tip-down)

This is a rolling change for us... meaning you should start seeing these ship from us in November/December (remember DATES ARE APPROXIMATE ONLY!).

So the ZDP Delica is going to be about the same time?

I am beginning to like these a lot, particularly the SS Endura, I like the new clips, thier position option's and the fact that the lanyard hole is 'isolated', unlike the current clip's, small point's I know but they are part of a greater package..

The handle's look very user friendly while still providing a neat slim profile.

:) :) :) .

The hole does not seem all that larger? I was thinking when Sal said bigger he meant 14mm bigger. Those appear only to be 12.5 to 13mm large, or do my eyes deceive me? Having a smallish hole size is very important to me and I am just wondering what the new ones are slated to be.

Anywho, I LOVE LOVE LOVE the new design. Looks like a winner to me!

Wow, I think that Spyderco has made some great modifications of some classics. Several of these changes address specific issues that I had with the Delica/Endura: especially the new 4-way clip, screws instead of rivets, and the modified tip.

Great job :spyder: ! I will have to pick up one of each of the FRN models.

Are these going to be a sprint run as orginally planned, or will they be part of a regular production run? Reason I ask - I'm hoping to be able to get at least one of the Delicas up here :D I have one of the ZDP Caly Jr's on back order with one of the Canadian online dealers and they could not give me a delivery time yet. I would prefer to source them in Canada as opposed to running the remote risk of getting any of these gems seized coming across the line.

I thought of another question in addition to my hole size question.

Are the blades from the new and old going to be able to be swapped? I know there is no good easy way to get the blade out of the old seeing as though it is riveted, but say someone does manage to get it out cleanly, would it fit nice and snug and proper in the new?

I don't have a knife designer mentality, so it may obviously not work, and I am assuming since the new liners, new handle shape and all of that, it will not fit right, but still wondering.

Thanks

ZDP is a sprint run, but there is a regular production planned in VG-10.

I will probably buy 1 or 2 of both endura and delica BUT old style. Those where great designs and gives to spyderco a lot. I understand that the new models are better but I feel a little bit sentimental about the old models... ;)
