YOUR AGE BY CHOCOLATE MATH

This is pretty neat.

DON'T CHEAT BY SCROLLING DOWN FIRST!

It takes less than a minute....... Work this out as you read..
Be sure you don't read the bottom until you've worked it out!
This is not one of those waste of time things, it's fun.

1. First of all, pick the number of times a week that you would like to have chocolate. (more than once but less than 10)










2. Multiply this number by 2 (Just to be bold)











3. Add 5. (for Sunday)











4.. Multiply it by 50 I'll wait while you get the calculator.................











5. If you have already had your birthday this year add 1755.... > >






If you haven't, add 1754









6. Now subtract the four digit year that you were born.











You should have a three digit number










The first digit of this was your original number (i.e., how many times you want to have chocolate each week).








I tried it. Really works!

I've seen these maths before. They're pretty cool. No magic in there, just logic, but cool indeed.

Doesn't work for me. It sais "less than 10 times a week", which I find totally unacceptable

If you take a look at the string of operations that are performed, there's nothing much to this. For example, suppose you choose 8 times per week, you've already had a birthday this year, and you were born in 1947, the string would appear as follows:

[( 8 X 2) + 5] X 50 + 1755 - 1947
= (8 X 2 X 50) + (5 X 50) + 1755 - 1947
= 800 + 250 + 1755 - 1947
= 800 + (2005 - 1947)

Whatever your choice, your single-digit number of times per week is multiplied by 100, and then your age (2005 - year of birth) is added. If you have not yet had your birthday this year, then 1755 must be replaced by 1754 so that you end up subtracting your year of birth from 2004. Clearly, chronological age must not exceed 99.
