Hearts?
Hearts?
I've been trying to learn how to play the card game called "Hearts" on my pc. I can win a few games but I really don't get the idea behind it. It's fun but it would be more fun if I kind of knew what I was doing. The instructions aren't much for detail either. :confused: Does anyone play Hearts?
everyone shows a card, the highest card takes the lot & the score is calculated per card recieved, queen of spades is 13 points.
you win by either taking the least cards (having the fewest points) or by managing to take every single card. rather boring game but can be nice from time to time, takes some thought & planning :p

first player to 100points is out.. each heart you "take" is a point, queen of spades is 13 points.. if you "shoot the moon" and get ALL the hearts & the queen of spades, you take 0 and give everyone else 26 points for the hand.
2 of clubs leads, high card takes it(ace high) and you have to play in suit unless you don't have any of that suit(hint, if you have 2-3 of a suit, try to pass them off when you get to dump 3 cards). That person who took it chooses the next suit. again, high card of that suit takes it(so it the start card is 5 of clubs, theres a 8 and 10 of clubs and the queen of spades, the 10 of clubs take it and the 13 points with it
)
goes around till everyone is out of cards.
count how many hearts are in the hands you took, thats your score for the hand. again, 100point is the end and low score wins, you should be able to make it through on mid 20s after enough practice... and yes, I've got lots of practice playing it.
Loose yah yet?
if you have the queen of spades, you face the option of trying to nail someone else with 13 points for the hand, or passing it off and trying to avoid it. I keep it.
enjoy.

Why do people worry more if you argue with your voices than if you just talk with them? What about if you lose those arguements?

Thanks for the replys. I will save what you wrote VW. I get a little of it by playing it on the pc. I have slowed the cards down but it still moves fast. I like the game better than Solitaire so far. I was trying to get 2 suits the same or get the least amount of points. Shoot the Moon I don't quite get yet. I think it takes a lot of preplanning and memorizing what cards were played. I did notice that the pc seems to spread the points out equally to the other three players and I get the most points and lose. I think the other players "learn" as we play? I'll keep at it till I get it then try to get some people to play it real-time with real cards. I can't get anyone interested in playing cards. All they want to do is watch the tv and that makes the grey matter turn brown. :)

shooting the moon pretty much requires that you don't hold anything lower than a 7, preferably 9 and up.
just takes really careful planning to pull off, or inattentive opponents. The big trick is to keep 1-2 hearts to yourself and feed the other 24 points to your buddy... :D :p but they may not want to play if you do that every night.
I'm out of practice and just got a 42 point game.
