2001 model changes..........

#1

Post by Tom Puderbaugh »

Hi gang,

I plan on buying an Endura at an upcoming gun show this weekend. I've heard that Spyderco made several small changes to this knife for the 2001 model year.

1. Slightly stronger tip (removed the last two small serrations nearest the tip).

2. Curved-out lock release. (Anyone know the purpose of this?)

3. Slightly increased the recess on the reversible clip mounting hole.

Am I missing anything?

Thanks!

Hi Tom. We're always making minor changes to our models. Those are some of them, but you can bet there will be more.

The recessed cut out in the lock release bar is to minimize the possiblility of accidentally unlocking the knife if squeezing the handle. The suggestion was made by David Boye, so we refer to it as a Boye style locking lever.

Sal,

Thanks for the prompt reply.

It's terrific to see the owner of a company so interested in servicing their customers. Keep up the good work.
