I am looking at possibly geting a Ti Salsa but I also keep looking at the Walker. The blade lengths are pretty much the same so I put them in the same catagory. I'm a college student so I'm thinking Sheeple friendly; one reason I like the sub 3 inch blade length catagory.
I have a regular blue Salsa so I have a pretty good idea of how it will perform but the Walker is unknown to me.


How does the Walker compare to the Salsa? General light duty cutting? Heavy duty cutting chores? Any other information would be helpful.

I have both, and I think they easily serve different roles.

The Ti Salsa is a great "little big knife." The finger grooves allow you to really get a grasp on the handle. The integral compression lock is very good, and I like the feeling of the titanium scales. The ATS-34 blade is outstanding -- flat grind, scary sharp, cobra hood, expected Spyderco finish.

The Walker is an attractive, gentleman's knife. What it may lack in brute ability is made up for in it's refinement. It has a smooth action with Spyderco's latest refienements to the Walker-designed lock.

Since you have a Salsa already, maybe getting the Walker is right (for now). They are a limited run of 500. You can then have a choice of design rather than just a choice of materials.

I read elsewhere that an individual had problems with play in two of his Ti-Salsas. Have you had any problems with blade play in yours, ChrisH?
